In Cartwright, North Dakota,
right up by the Montana line,
where the clocks argue with each other
and nobody’s quite sure whose time is right.
It’d be perfect—
if not for the wind.
The kind that reminds you
this place doesn’t give anything easy.
Here, mornings come early,
work comes first,
and people show up
whether the weather agrees or not.
Hands are rough,
coffee is strong,
and the miles are long—
but the neighbors are close.
This Christmas, we’re grateful
for hard-working people,
open roads,
and a town that keeps going
no matter what direction the wind blows.
Merry Christmas from Yellowstone Station.
