Here are a couple of jobs we got taken care of this week

We replaced the passenger side door mirror assembly on a Ford Escape. The customer had purchased a replacement glass for us to install, but there were components missing from the rest of the mirror to attach the new glass. The complete assembly wasn’t available through the parts stores, so I coordinated with the customer and picked up a replacement from Pick-n-Pull while I was there, that way they didn’t have to hassle with trying to track one down themselves.

We also replaced the belt tensioner and serpentine belt on a Nissan Murano yesterday. The tensioner was worn and the belt had started to separate, causing a loud belt squeal. We had previously diagnosed the issue for the customer, and when they were ready to move forward, we got the necessary parts and completed the repairs.

A Quick Update from DB Mobile Auto 🔧

I wanted to give everyone who has supported DB Mobile Auto a quick update.

I recently started a new full-time job, and it’s a great opportunity to invest in my business in order to ensure its future success. Because of my new schedule, I’m going to be significantly limiting my availability for mobile repairs for the time being.

DB Mobile Auto is not going away. I’ll still be taking select jobs when my schedule allows (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) particularly smaller jobs such as oil changes, brakes, basic maintenance, and diagnostics so that I still have time off with family.

With my availability being more limited than it has been, I may not always be able to get to a job immediately. If you’ve used DB Mobile Auto before and have a repair or maintenance need, feel free to reach out and I’ll let you know what I can do.

I really appreciate everyone who has trusted me with their vehicles, recommended me to friends and family, and supported my small business. The success my business has seen so far is all thanks to my customers and their recommendations. I’m looking forward to continue building DB Mobile Auto over time and hopefully expanding what I can offer in the future.

In the mean time I will continue posting updates and descriptions of jobs completed when time allows.

It’s been a busy week here at DB Mobile Auto, and I wanted to give everyone a quick update on what we’ve been working on!

Over the past week, we’ve completed:

🔧 Chevy Camaro — Water pump replacement
🔧 Nissan Murano — Belt tensioner replacement
🔧 Mazda Pickup — Starter replacement
🔧 Ford Escape — Diagnosed an oil leak and replaced the oil pan gasket
❄️ Chevy Equinox — Diagnosed a faulty A/C compressor
🔧 Ford Escape — Diagnosed a faulty door lock actuator and driver seat motor

I really appreciate everyone who has trusted me with their vehicles and helped keep DB Mobile Auto moving forward! The business has been picking up, and that’s something I’m extremely grateful for. 🙏

One quick scheduling update: when I first started DB Mobile Auto, I advertised same-day or next-day availability. As business continues to grow, I may not always be able to get to appointments that quickly. Wait times may be a little longer than they were when I first started, especially during busy weeks.

I’ll always do my best to get everyone scheduled as quickly as I can while still taking the time to properly diagnose and repair each vehicle.

Cheaper isn't always better.

I recently had a customer reach out to me after having their alternator replaced by another mechanic. I had originally talked to this customer about the alternator replacement but they end up choosing someone else for the job.

Unfortunately, the alternator was left loose, and the belt tensioner was not installed correctly. The tensioner ended up locking up, and I was called in to diagnose the problem and get everything back in working order.

I'm not sharing this to bash another mechanic. Mistakes can happen to anyone. I'm sharing it because I've given out a lot of quotes where the customer has told me they found someone cheaper, and sometimes the cheapest option can end up costing more in the long run.

When you hire DB Mobile Auto, you're not just paying for someone to replace a part. You're paying for the job to be done correctly, and I'm going to stand behind the work I do.

I offer warranties on parts that I supply, and if something goes wrong with my workmanship, I'll take responsibility for it.

I know I won't always be the cheapest option, and that's okay. My goal is to provide quality work at a fair price and earn your business by giving you a reason to call me again.

🔧 A little update from DB Mobile Auto! 🔧

It’s been a little over a week since I’ve made a post, and honestly, this past week has been pretty slow on the business side. I haven’t had a lot of actual jobs come through, but that doesn’t mean I’ve been sitting around!

I’ve been keeping busy with customer quotes, improving our scheduling and invoice systems, working on my own truck, and helping family when they needed it.

This week I’ve done the lower ball joints and a rear differential service on my truck so that way we can be ready to hit the road when customers call.

I also had a family member have a right rear wheel bearing fail on the highway while they were out of state. Their vehicle ended up sitting on the side of the road, so I got it taken care of today and was able to get them safely back on the road.

Here are a few pictures from this past week. Not every week is packed with customer jobs, but I’m still turning wrenches, learning, working on vehicles, and staying ready for the next customer.

Back to work on this 2011 Lincoln Navigator today! Yesterday we repaired a leaking transmission cooler line, and today we completed a transmission fluid and filter service. Keeping up with routine maintenance like this can help extend the life of your transmission and keep it performing its best.

This customer was concerned that their transmission fluid leak was coming from a faulty radiator.

After performing a diagnosis, I found that the radiator wasn't the problem. The leak was actually coming from the transmission cooler line connected to an aftermarket transmission cooler.

During the inspection, I found that a section of heater hose had been used for the transmission cooler line. While it may appear similar, heater hose isn't designed for continuous exposure to automatic transmission fluid and can lead to leaks over time.

As you can see in the video even though the clamp is tightened down the hose is very loose and able to be moved easily by hand.

To correct the issue we
✅ Replaced the heater hose with transmission-rated cooler hose.
✅ Upgraded the plastic barb fitting on the other end of the hose to a brass fitting for added durability.
✅ Installed heavy-duty hose clamps on both ends to hold up better to the high fluid pressure.

Not every leak is what it first appears to be. Taking the time to properly diagnose the problem helps prevent unnecessary parts replacement and ensures the actual issue is fixed.

We have now added headlight restoration to our list of services!
