When Ford stepped away from more than twenty years reliance on the venerable “flathead,” its replacement was an overhead valve V-8 that came to be known as the Y-block, produced through the 1950s and early ‘60s in various sizes from 272ci to 312ci.

T&D Machine Products, manufacturers of the finest shaft-mount rocker arms in the aftermarket industry, has stepped slightly out of the box in fulfilling a demand for a new rocker set for the Y-Block Ford.

The engine type already came equipped with shaft-mount rockers from the factory, but T&D takes it a step farther with stands that cure incorrect geometry, and OEM-style ball adjusters that use jam nuts to positively establish lash. They come with available ratios that range from 1.55-1.70. The aluminum rocker bodies feature roller tips and are spaced using graphite impregnated nylon spacers instead of springs to ensure proper side shimming.

The rocker arms are oiled through the cylinder head like OEM and are internally oiled to roller tips and bushings. There is an or***ce behind each roller tip for better lubrication and help with spring cooling, and another that sprays oil directly on the pushrod cup.

To save on cost to the end user, the T&D rocker set for the Y-Block is for stock length valves and utilizes the OEM shaft.
