Do you need a fron license plate if you car came without a frame or your dealership told you didnt need it?
1. Under Texas Transportation Code § 504.943, standard passenger cars, trucks, and SUVs must display both a front and rear license
2. No Manufacturer Loophole: If your vehicle's front bumper is smooth or lacks factory holes, you are still legally required to mount a plate using an aftermarket solution (like a tow-hook mount or adhesive bracket)
3. Putting your front plate on the dashboard or behind the windshield does not comply with the law. Courts require it on the exterior foremost part of the vehicle.
4. A missing front plate is a traffic violation with fines up to $200.
Dismissal: Courts often dismiss the charge if you install the front plate before your first court date and pay a small fee of up to $10
