30 lbs of billet goes in. 8 lbs comes out.

Every IntelAlign scale base starts as US-sourced 6061-T6 aluminum, and we machine away 73% of it. FEA drives every pocket and rib, so the material that stays is exactly where the load paths need it.

Why weight matters:
One technician moves all four bases around the car without a cart, a helper, or a strained back. Setup gets faster because the equipment stops fighting you.

Why rigidity matters:
A base that deflects under load tilts the pad and shifts where the weight lands. That shows up as corner weight error and ride height error. Rigid structure, reliable numbers.

Manufacturing in house has its complications. If we said we never make mistakes, we’d be lying. But it’s worth it every time. Complete control of the product from raw material to your door. Tolerances held tighter than the our prints calls for, because we can. Custom parts and fast iteration when a customer needs something specific. That’s what happens when the people who design the parts also run the machines.

Custom Grid Plates for a STALLION MOTORSPORTS Cupra Leon TCR.

These aren’t generic plates. They’re designed for the exact car, this one is laser engraved for the Leon TCR’s 2686mm wheelbase, with graduations scaled so what you read on the plate is true toe at the wheel on an 18” wheel, down to the 1/4 mm and easily resolved to the 1/8 mm. Each plate is labeled for its corner and its direction, so there’s no mental math and no flipped signs at 10pm the night before a race.

Before talking about adjustments, understand what a suspension is actually trying to do. There are four jobs, and they are all a balance:

Keep the tire in contact with the road. The contact patch is everything. Anything that lifts, unloads, or skips the tire across the surface costs grip.

Keep the tire’s contact patch flat to the ground when the chassis is loaded in cornering, braking, or acceleration. A tire makes peak grip when its contact patch is optimally oriented.

Distribute load between the four tires in a predictable, controllable way. The driver wants the car to rotate, grip, and recover smoothly without surprises.

Communicate to the driver what’s happening at the contact patch through steering feel, chassis attitude, and feedback at the limit.

Every adjustment is some level of compromise between these four goals. Move one, you move the others. Have full control of what you’re moving.

Every IntelAlign scale pad starts as a block of aluminum and a tight tolerance.

The IntelAlign scale pads are machined in-house, made in the USA. Same building where we answer your emails.

That pad is the part your corner weights live on. Set the car down and IntelAlign reads it straight to the iPad: weight per corner, cross weight, totals, live. The reason those numbers stay honest is that the pad feeding them is held to our own standard. When we machine the reference and write the software that reads it, nothing gets lost in between.

That’s the whole idea. A connected pad that captures the setup and repeats it, corner to corner, every session.

This is what “Made in USA” means to us. Not a sticker, a process. A process for machining and a process for setup.
