I’m super proud of what we accomplished.

Most of the work isn’t visible to anyone but Caitlin and I. Learning how to read instructions, have a better understanding of what things are, where they go, how they work and more was a huge win.

The next step will be crimping the designated wires in the rear harness. Am I nervous about potentially messing up? Absolutely!

Only way to improve is to do it 💪

What a jam packed weekend!

Three days of getting hands on with installing the main and rear harness portions of the Classic Update Series Kit for my 1969 Camaro, might have melted my brain just a little bit.

Couldn’t have had more fun doing anything else 💪

Just breathe… mistakes happen 😬

Many times, I do let fear of messing up stop me from moving forward at a faster pace. Avoidance is a habit that has not helped alleviate the anxiety, only exacerbates it.

How does one overcome and make progress when the stomach knots are so strong that ANYTHING other than facing it head on sounds better?

Just gotta do it.

Easier said than done, trust me I’m VERY familiar with the feeling. Still, doesn’t change the truth.

Doesn’t mean it needs to be done alone though. Having Caitlin here helping has truly made a difference. I’m so grateful to PEAK for Sponsoring this experience.

Gotta have a sense of humor and overall enjoy the process.

Online ordering the wrong crimper tool 2x and not finding it on a tool run to the store can be frustrating. Why get angry or take it so seriously though? Not like that will make the situation any better.

Shifting the mindset to accepting, THIS is what the journey is suppose to look like and to lean in has been a blast.

It can be difficult to navigate pain.

One thing I’ve been forced to learn, is listening to my body and find whatever position is necessary to protect my back.

Sometimes that means climbing into the trunk, so I’m not leaning forward to reach the wires.

Anyone else get apartment syndrome when it comes to putting holes in the wall?

After living in a rented space and knowing you had to pay out of the security deposit or additional repairs, the fear of not putting the hole in properly causing the picture or object rip out of the wall, messing up needing to make multiple holes, and really anything an inexperienced and anxious mind can think of, has lead to complete avoidance.

People have and will continue to give me flack for this, so what.

The only way to address the fear and lack of experience, is to do the dang thing.

People jab at my inexperience with a drill and fear of messing up. Instead of jumping on that wagon, Caitlin coached me through it.

Tim Newey gifted this sign as a fun reminder of my dad and it had been sitting in the spare room for a couple years. After Caitlin helped organize the garage, she suggested we actually hang signs.
