Low boost codes or black smoke? Don't condemn the turbo just yet.
A cracked Charge Air Cooler (CAC) or loose boots drop manifold pressure, forcing the turbo to overspeed to compensate. This leads to extreme heat and premature failure.🚫
Diagnostic Check:
✔️ Pressure-test the CAC system before replacing components.
✔️ Inspect boots and clamps for oil residue (a sign of boost leaks).
