Another week in the books at Valor. 🔧🇺🇸

We spend a lot of time around here talking about cars—but the truth is, some of the best stories in this shop belong to the people working on them.

That’s really the heart behind our podcast. We want to share our love of cars, pull back the curtain at Valor, and introduce you to some of the incredibly interesting people who make this place what it is.

This week, we sat down with our own Josh Rodriguez to talk about his wild road to Valor—including his time on reality TV, life on Car Wars, fame, cars, business ventures, and quite a few stories we definitely weren't expecting. 😂

You think you know the guys working on your classic cars and then you find out one of them used to be on reality TV...

Meet Josh Rodriguez — one of our expert technicians and, as Brendan so appropriately dubbed him, a “serial entrepreneur” with one heck of a story.

Years ago, Josh appeared on the Discovery Channel reality show Car Wars, and we finally got him behind a microphone to talk about what life on reality TV was REALLY like—the fame, the fans, what happens when the cameras are and are not rolling, and the incredible adventure that eventually led him here to Valor.

The doctor will see you now, Mr. Porsche. 😂

Today’s patient: a 1980 Porsche 911 Targa with a CIS system that needed a little attention.

Dr. Justin and Dr. Simri are on the case—and judging by all the gauges, lines, tests and equipment hooked up to this thing, we’re pretty sure this qualifies as a full physical.

All jokes aside, this is the kind of diagnostic work that happens behind the scenes every day at Valor. Rather than guessing and replacing parts, our guys take the time to test the systems, understand what the car is telling us, and figure out what it actually needs.

Because sometimes a good restoration shop looks suspiciously like a doctor's office. 🔧

Diagnosis first. Wrenches second.

You know you work in a Texas shop when SPRAY FOAM INSTALLATION feels like Christmas morning. 😂🎉

The South Shop is getting prepped for insulation, and to say the guys are excited might be an understatement.

Cooler shop. Happier crew. Less feeling like we're working approximately three feet from the surface of the sun. 🥵☀️

It's not the flashiest restoration update we've ever shared... but around here, this is a BIG deal. 😂

🎶 FAB - FAB - FAB-ulous... 🎶

We're sorry.

Actually, no we're not. 😂

Today we're putting the FAB in fabulous and celebrating the guys in our fabrication shop—the men who cut it, weld it, grind it, bend it, and somehow make it all come together. 🔥🔧

Are they talented? Fab-solutely.
Are their welds beautiful? Fab-tastic.
Did we create an unnecessarily catchy song about them? Fab-viously.

We'd like to apologize in advance for the fact that this song will now be living rent-free in your head for the remainder of the day.

Our fab shop guys deserve their own theme song.

Unfortunately for them... we gave them one. 😂🎶

There are quite a few new faces around here, so we thought we'd start the week with a little look around the shop.

It’s Friday.

It’s August.

It’s Texas.

And we are pretty tired. 😂🥵

Another hot week in the shop is officially in the books. The cars are looking good and the crew survived!

That’s about all we’ve got today, folks. 😂

Sometimes the best restoration decision is knowing what not to restore. 👏

This super collectible 1977 Ford F-250 dentside arrived at Valor today for mechanical repairs, and just look at that original Indio Tan paint. 😍

Is it perfect? Nope.

Does it need to be? Absolutely not.

There's something incredibly special about original paint that's survived nearly 50 years. Every little imperfection is part of this truck's history, and we have no intention of erasing it.

So the plan for this beauty is simple: preserve the character, handle the mechanical work, and get her running again. 🔧

Because restoration doesn't always mean making something look brand new. Sometimes it means respecting what's already there and making sure it can be enjoyed for another generation.

There’s just something about bringing an old car back to life.

After years of sitting, countless unknowns, and a whole lot of “well... let’s see what happens,” there’s nothing quite like the moment a classic comes alive again.

It may not be finished.
It may not be pretty yet.
But it’s ALIVE. 🙌

And around here, that’s a pretty darn good day.

Just another little glimpse of life inside the shop at Valor—where old cars get another chance to tell their story.
