As we move into Spring, I have finished equipping a new vehicle for students. Now that the auto industry is moving away from sedans I have elected for a small SUV and decided on the Chevy Trailblazer. I have also begun a partnership with Eighmey Chevrolet in Troy PA. Students completing the full program will be given a business card providing them a $500 credit toward a new or used car at Eighmey Chevrolet. I want to thank, former Troy high school student, Bill Leffler for working with me and providing this discount to my students.

I would like to thank everyone for their patience during this time of shutdown for my business .
I have finally been given the go-ahead from the state to begin providing lessons and road test, to eligible students, as of June 8th.

COVID-19 Update:
I am beginning to receive some feedback from the state in regards to being permitted to provide lessons and road tests. Now that Bradford County is entering the "Yellow" phase of re-opening, I am anticipating that some aspects of my business will be resuming. I believe that they will be allowing road tests first and then in-car lessons afterward. I know it is not ideal for those who are eligible to test, but haven't completed the driving sessions yet. I will continue to update everyone as information is provided to me. I will also be making phone contacts with those who have already inquired about lessons/tests. Thank you for bearing with me as we move through everything to get back to full operation. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.

Now that area schools are finishing up for the year, we are ready for summer scheduling. At this point, Mac's Driving Academy has been able to license 30 drivers since the beginning of the year and 74 drivers in total. Testing dates at the DMV are becoming more difficult to schedule, however, current driving school students have been able to schedule on their test date or within days of becoming eligible.
Road conditions are getting better but that also means more traffic and, with the nicer weather, more motorcycles. Students are learning valuable lessons on defensive driving and positioning their vehicle to maximize their visibility. Thank you to everyone that has taken advantage of our services.

As the year closes, I'd like to thank everyone that has taken advantage of Mac's Driving Academy. I've been asked many times how I can handle driving around teaching teens to drive and my answer is always the same, "I just like working with drivers who are learning". Don't get me wrong, some days are ....challenging, but always rewarding when I see the improvement. These students will most likely be out there on the roads with all of us and I feel better knowing that they have some valuable information that will help them be safe.
At this point, 43 drivers from 5 different school districts have worked through the driving program. 40 of those drivers have actually taken, and passed, their road test. The remaining students were not eligible at the time. Students enrolled at Canton, Towanda, and Troy school districts are permitted to road test through Mac's Driving Academy when they become test eligible.

What students are saying....I was caught in one of the worst storms of the year for Buffalo and ended up losing control of my vehicle. Instead of panicking, I recalled how Mr. McAninch taught me to gain control of the vehicle. I was able to gain control again and avoided a head on collision with another vehicle. I am very thankful for the time and effort Mr. McAninch put into his class and curriculum, and would recommend him to anyone for teaching knowledge and skills of driving.

I would like to thank everyone who has made the choice to take advantage of my businesses services. I am very happy that you've allowed me to help provide techniques and strategies to your son's and daughters. Hopefully, they've all gained valuable lessons so that they can become informed, defensive drivers. Again, thank you for letting me teach your childen.
