Job Title: Paint Prep Technician

Summary: Responsible for the preparation of vehicles for paint as assigned by performing the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
-Prepares auto body surfaces using proper sanding techniques and applying chemical cleaners.
-Applies special materials to vehicles to include, primer coats, chip guards, and caulks in accordance with original manufacturer standards of quality.
-Wears appropriate safety equipment to include respirator, safety gloves, and safety eyewear.
-Uses and disposes of hazardous materials to include thinners, solvents and paints according to safety procedures.
-Moves vehicles within shop area as jobs are completed.
-Cleans the Paint Shop Department
-Moves parts to paint room and from paint room to designated areas
-Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:

• Organization skills
• Time management skills
• Attention to detail
• Team player

Education/Experience:
BOCES Auto Body graduate or two to four years related experience and/or training in the automotive refinish field.

Salary: Based on experience and skill set
