Important Update from Rust Belt Offroad & Rust Belt Broncos
Since the beginning, Rust Belt Offroad and Rust Belt Broncos have always tried to include as much value as possible in the price of our bodies and tubs. One of those items has been our custom-built steel shipping pallets with heavy-duty caster wheels, which we have historically included at no additional charge.
These pallets are not disposable. They are built from steel tubing and designed to safely support and transport full vehicle bodies, allowing them to be easily moved around shops and garages once they arrive.
Unfortunately, due to rapidly increasing steel costs, we will now be implementing a pallet fee on all new orders going forward.
Over the past several months, the price of steel tubing used to build these pallets has been increasing week after week. When we reached out to our supplier for clarification, this was the explanation provided:
“Tube pricing has been on the increase weekly, and demand is up. Our mill advised us yesterday: ‘Lots going on and this is what I’m seeing — AI infrastructure, data warehouses, and government infrastructure projects are all driving demand right now.’”
While we have absorbed these increases for as long as possible, the continued rise in material costs means we can no longer include the pallet at no charge without significantly raising the price of our bodies themselves.
Rather than increasing the cost of every product across the board, we feel the most transparent and fair solution is to separate the pallet as its own line item.
This allows customers to clearly see the cost and also keep the pallet, which many builders continue to use for months or even years to move their project around their shop.
We appreciate everyone’s understanding as we navigate the same material cost increases affecting manufacturers across the country. Our goal has always been — and will continue to be — building the highest quality reproduction truck and Bronco bodies in the industry while being upfront and honest with our customers.
