This VW arrived under its own power, with a complaint of a knocking sound from the engine compartment while driving or turning.

Whoa! The engine/transmission was hanging down on the drivers side.
When this transmission was last removed/installed, the transmission side mount bolts where not torqued correctly and or replaced. This caused the bolts to come entirely loose of the lower transmission bracket alowing the transmission to drop down. Luckily the only damage here was to the transmission mount bracket and lower tourqe mount, and bolts.

Supercharged Mini Cooper with a low boost fault intermittently.
The crankshaft pulley/harmonic balancer was split internally, allowing the outer pulley to spin/slip.

Somehow this TDi was still running when it arrived, and it left running, better than before and safer.

Oregon Department of Transportation HWY 99E Construction Update (4/17/24):

• Crews are working throughout the project area -- some replacing the stormwater pipes under the highway while others construct ADA curb ramps.
• Each element must be completed in a particular sequence. Working in different locations gives each crew space to safely complete their tasks. It also keeps the project moving forward because crews are not waiting on each other to complete a task at one location before they can start their work.
•Completing the stormwater pipe and ADA work now means we can repair the highway pavement base and pave when weather permits.

HAPPENING NEXT:
•Work begins next week to reconstruct the pavement base in the right lanes. This is a significant project milestone, leading to smoother rides for travelers and longer lasting pavement.
•Reconstruction work will occur in sections, one direction at a time, starting between Berg Parkway and Elm Street for OR 99E north. We will pave both lanes while working in each section.

CURRENT TRAFFIC IMPACTS:
• Around-the-clock lane closures continue: both directions between Pine Street and Berg Parkway. Watch for travel lanes to be shifted.
• Left turn restrictions into and out of driveways where lanes and the center median are closed.
• Side street closures. Use Grant Street to detour.
• No access to or from Birch Street for several weeks.
• No access to or from Elm Street at OR 99E until late April.
• As of Monday, April 15: No access to or from Ivy Street until early May.
• Accessible detours available for people moving through the area.
• Business access is open during construction. Watch for blue cones, business access signs and flaggers assisting with business access.
