Important information for Ag Exemptions!
Attention all Kentucky Agriculture Exemption holders! Please read this important information.
Renewals through mail in applications will likely not be an option this year. You MUST create an account online.
On June 18th, emails were sent out to all current Agricultural Exemption holders about an update in the renewal process that is going to begin next week.
In case you’ve missed it, we’ve pasted the email here so you can get the latest updates on what to expect on the renewal process.⬇️
The Kentucky Department of Revenue will begin the agricultural exemption license number renewal process on July 1, 2026, in order for all exemption holders to have sufficient time to complete the renewal process before the December 31, 2026, expiration date.
What to Expect
• The renewal process will be completed online, and we anticipate the renewal portal will open on July 1, 2026, at MyTaxes.ky.gov.
• You will receive a separate letter via USPS mail that includes your Personal Identification Number (PIN) and instructions for completing your renewal.
• Beginning the last week of June, PIN letters will be mailed in limited batches in alphabetical order to spread out renewals across several months and avoid processing backlogs. All letters will arrive with sufficient time to complete your renewal before the expiration date, so please begin the renewal process as soon as your letter arrives.
• To renew, you will need to create a MyTaxes user account by following the steps in the user guide. Once your account is created, you can use your PIN to access the online renewal process.
• Follow the instructions in your PIN letter to link your Agricultural Exemption ID. Under Account Type, select Agricultural Exemption
ID, then enter your PIN.
• Your current agricultural exemption license number authorization remains valid through December 31, 2026.
