Kharg Island is Iran’s primary crude oil export hub, processing roughly 90% of the country's crude exports and serving as a critical economic lifeline for Tehran. Located in the northern Persian Gulf about 15 to 21 miles off the coast of mainland Iran, the coral outcrop is currently a major geopolitical flashpoint in the escalating U.S.–Iran conflict

👉Threat of Seizure: In a series of social media statements and a Fox News interview on June 11, 2026, U.S. President Donald Trump explicitly threatened that the U.S. "will be taking Kharg Island" and other strategic energy infrastructure to assume total control of Iran's oil and gas markets.

👉Escalating Military Confrontation: Trump announced that the U.S. military would hit Iranian targets "VERY HARD TONIGHT" as part of ongoing operations intended to push Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and show flexibility in negotiations over its nuclear program

👉Previous Airstrikes: The island has been subjected to multiple targeted U.S. bombing campaigns earlier this year, notably in March and April 2026. While these stealth bomber operations heavily struck surrounding military installations (such as naval mine storage and air defense systems), they deliberately spared the actual oil terminals to keep Iran's economy functioning while maintaining intense diplomatic leverage

It possesses a storage capacity of 28 to 30 million barrels and the technical capacity to process up to 7 million barrels per day

✅Global Market Risk: Energy market analysts and regional states like Qatar warn that a complete physical disruption or seizure of Kharg Island could trigger an immediate crisis, potentially driving global oil prices past $150 per barrel within weeks if the conflict further closes traffic through the Strait of Hormuz

Americans told to cut head off of land-walking 'Frankenfish' invading new parts of the US

*An invasive land-walking fish from Asia has invaded the US, forcing officials to ask Americans to take matters into their own hands.

The northern snakehead has earned a fearsome reputation for its aggressive hunting behavior and ability to outcompete native species for food and habitat.

Often dubbed the 'Frankenfish,' the species can breathe air and survive out of water for several days as long as its skin remains moist, allowing it to move between bodies of water under the right conditions.

The invasive fish, first detected in US waters in 2002, has spread across much of the Mid-Atlantic and Eastern US. Now, it has been spotted in New York for the first time.

The alarming discovery was made at Lily Pond in Suffolk County on Long Island, where a fisherman reeled in one of the snake-like predators, prompting New York's Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) to step up efforts to stop the species from becoming established in the state.

Officials are warning anglers not to throw the fish back if they catch one.

A land-walking fish that can breathe air for several days is invading parts of the US, prompting wildlife officials to ask Americans to take matters into their own hands.

U.S. DOE Scraps $8.8 Billion of Electric Heat Pump Conversion Rebates

The United States Department of Energy (DOE) has issued a slate of program notices providing that nearly $9 Billion of Inflation Reduction Act funding may no longer be used to incentivize consumers to switch from propane or other gas heating and cooling systems to electric heat pumps. States with already-launched programs must implement the fuel-switching prohibition within three months.

These actions apply to both the Home Owner Managing Energy Savings (HOMES) program (rebates up to $8,000) and the High-Efficiency Electric Home Rebate (HEEHR) program (rebates up to $14,000). Going forward, rebates under these programs are limited to upgrading existing electric equipment and new construction. Additionally, insulation and air sealing upgrades are required prior to installing electric upgrades.

National Propane Gas Association and our coalition partners requested a comprehensive review of these programs with a specific focus on their disparate impact to combustion-fueled appliances. This DOE action marks a massive win for propane and our liquid fuel peers.

Iran war live: Trump vows to hit Iran ‘very hard’ tonight

*Iran’s foreign ministry condemns the US strikes on the country, saying that it has rendered the ceasefire “practically meaningless”. Earlier the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) launched retaliatory strikes on US forces in the region, including Kuwait, Bahrain, and Jordan, according to Iranian news reports.

The US military launched attacks “against multiple targets in Iran”, saying the strikes were in “self-defense”. The attacks come hours after President Donald Trump accused Tehran of taking ‘too long’ to negotiate a deal.

Iranian media reported attacks in numerous locations, including the port city of Bandar Abbas, Qeshm Island, and the southern towns of Sirik, Minab, and Karaj west of Tehran.

Iran’s Mehr news agency reports that Iran’s military has ordered the complete closure of the Strait of Hormuz to all vessels, including oil tankers and commercial vessels.

Israeli attacks on Lebanon continued on Wednesday, with multiple reports of casualties in strikes on the south of the country and in the Bekaa Valley region, as the death toll since March from Israel’s bombardments reached 3,696.

Iran remains defiant amid US attacks, orders complete closure of Strait of Hormuz to all vessels.
