Alabama just got a whole lot older tonight… Reports of a massive alligator gar moving through the Tombigbee River have people across the Yellowhammer State looking at the water a little differently. 🐊🌊

This prehistoric species has been around for millions of years—long before Alabama had highways, cities, or even a statehood. And now, one of these armored river giants is reminding everyone that Alabama’s waterways still have plenty of secrets.

From quiet backwaters near Demopolis… to deep river bends stretching toward Mobile… Alabama’s rivers have always carried a wild kind of mystery. Meanwhile, everybody with a fishing boat, kayak, or riverside cabin is suddenly watching every ripple like:

“Yeah… absolutely not.” 😭

Alabama really said: Southern hospitality above… ancient river monsters below.

Welcome to the Heart of Dixie — where the history runs deep… and apparently, the creatures do too. 🐊🌿🌊
