We always look forward to the North 65 Chamber of Commerce August luncheon, and this year's theme of Decades was extra fun! Maybe "our" decade of the 70s isn't obvious at first, but raided our personal treasure of genuine clothes from high school for the dress-up contest. Doctor Monte was happily surprised that he could still wear his heavily-mended practice jersey. Carol started out with a white sheet that she put through the wax and dye process of batik in high school art class, and then sewed this top.

Here's your reminder that the first Friday in August is always Braham Pie Day ! It's our tradition to pick up slices for the crew from the w i d e variety of choices. Bonus, perfect timing since the Cambridge Ambassador Program was serving, including "our" Mariah Kendall! In celebration of our nation's Declaration of Independence 250 years ago, we will be closed this Friday, July 3, and will open for business as usual Monday, July 6. Enjoy a safe holiday weekend!

The St Louis County Rescue Squad post from 2 years ago was so well said that we are sharing it again:
"Friends, we hope your burgers are juicy and perfect, the mower or boat motor starts on the first pull, the fish hit on the first cast, the mosquitos take the day off, your friends and family are close, and the sounds of your children and grandchildren are happy and content. But please take a moment...just a minute...and recall that 248 years ago, 56 individuals affixed their signatures to a document that effectively signed their death warrants, and a new nation was born. We don't always get it right, but we get a lot of things right. Buckle up, wear your life jacket, save the alcohol for the cabin or the fire ring after, and be safe out there, eh? Happy Independence Day, everybody!"
