Residents, please view this January 2024 Winter Storm Alert Update from Fire Chief Cliff Free:
Citizens of Camas and Washougal, the recent freezing temperatures compounded by freezing rain have rendered the outside environment extremely dangerous for navigation, both on the streets and on foot. The Camas-Washougal Fire Department urges you to stay sheltered in place until the icy conditions have passed.
Over the last three days, the fire department has run a record number of emergency calls. These calls have included residential and commercial flooding from broken pipes; structure fires, fire alarms; downed power lines; motor vehicle accidents; medical calls and many ground level fall injuries from citizens trying to navigate the outside walking areas of their own residence. Please exercise extreme caution if forced to navigate the outside environment, and do so only when necessary. Emergency assistance and response may be delayed by road surface conditions and call volume.
Help us help you by staying safe and preventing unnecessary accidents and injuries due to the dangerous conditions.

Thank you,
