Traffic Collision Cover

Traffic Collision Cover By hiding vehicle damage from the public view using a Traffic Collision Cover, traffic flows faster past an accident scene.

A Traffic Collision Cover is a tarp with magnets along its edges to allow the tarp to magnetically and securely attach itself to one or more vehicles. A traffic collision cover restricts the view of physical damage to one or more vehicles involved in a traffic accident to passing motorists and pedestrians who may slow down and obstruct traffic to observe an accident scene. Emergency personnel can

quickly cover one or more vehicles or parts of vehicles with a cover to hide the damage done in an accident. As a result, this helps prevent traffic congestion and increase traffic flow at accident scenes. The top three advantages in using a Traffic Collision Cover are:

1. By hiding vehicle damage from the public view, traffic flows faster past an accident scene.

2. This allows additional emergency vehicles to reach and clear the accident scene quicker, which reduces the chance of emergency personnel being involved in secondary accidents.

3. This invention is small, takes up less space, and is lightweight. By supporting quicker response times of additional emergency vehicles, the Traffic Collision Cover may save the lives of those in the original accident and of emergency personnel who respond to the accident.

For those who follow us, our proposal to the NCHRP IDEA Program was rejected!

The traffic collision cover uses a fire retardant tarp with magnets used to cover damage to vehicles in an accident. This may speed traffic past an accident scene by preventing drivers from seeing the actual damage.

We're surprised not a single evaluator found any value in our invention.

What do you think?

Haven't heard back from the government whether they accepted our proposal yet.

Submitted proposal to NAS.EDU for the Traffic Collision Cover. Wish us luck (while you're in a traffic jam wishing they'd use the Traffic Collision Cover! 😀 )

Have to get the proposal in September! Hopefully the TCC will be evaluated and traffic will flow FASTER!!!

Today was the day! We submitted the Traffic Collision Cover proposal to the NCHRP IDEA Program, which you can read here:...

In 2017, TCC should learn if the Department of Transportation will or will not evaluate our Traffic Collision Cover. Let's hope they do!

On the 210 Freeway, there was a 7 car traffic accident that looked like the cars were pieces of bread. With traffic backed up for miles and moving slower than slow, it was a perfect situation to use the Traffic Collision Cover.

As the number of vehicles increase on our highways, freeways, and roads, and as the price of gasoline rises above $3 a gallon, every effort should be looked at to minimize traffic congestion and commute time.

While no invention can erase the commotion of emergency vehicles and the related slowdown at an accident scene, by covering the actual damage to vehicles involved in the accident, the amount of time motorists spend rubbernecking the accident is anticipated to be reduced.

A Traffic Collision Cover covers the physical damage to one or more vehicles involved in a traffic accident.

Emergency personnel who arrive first on the scene and after ensuring the safety of those involved in the accident, can quickly cover one or more vehicles or parts of vehicles using our TC Cover to hide the damage done in an accident.

This allows traffic to flow past the accident scene quicker, which allows additional emergency vehicles to arrive sooner, and allows the accident to be cleared in less time. This increases traffic flow, clears the accident sooner, and helps to minimize the time emergency personnel are put at risk at the accident scene itself.
