Sooooo.... the vevor story is RETRACTED!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THAT THING! We ended up pulling the helm out and every fitting was leaking. Took it down to bare bones and put all new seal kit in it and it still leaked!!!! Could not let it go home without the correct fix. We dropped a brand new Sea Star 5345 on her with new hydraulic lines and helm. We had to make a plate for the back of the helm due to the vevor being a larger diameter. Filled and turned the wheel 500 times to the left and 500 times to the right!! šŸ¤£ this guy is SMOOTH sailing from here!!! While we had it, we went to work on the front end getting all his graphs, turret, and GLS10 up and running correctly. Proper wiring on these computer units are critical. Adding a clam shell to cover a hole that was already in the floor using thw hole dor our perko switch. (One was already mounted there but was rusted up.) We then added in a blue sea fuse block and ran all the wires through top clean landing them on the fuse block. We set the black box that was zip tied to kick panel and anchored it down so that he would still be able to see his status light. This has been a pretty extensive job but it is completed non the less. We want to thank this customer for holding in there while we waited for his steering to show up. Canton Lake COE boat was a pretty neat Sea Ark. I didn't get many pictures because I was in a hurry to get it back in service. Symptom was that it would burb fuel back every pull of the lever. Broke it down and found that the vent hose was broke off the filler neck. Along with that the back flow prevent system was not working properly. While I had it he asked if I could find them a new wind screen. (Old one was busted up pretty bad) a couple phone calls and a dealer out of Tulsa OK got me an OEM replacement. Along side that we have 2 50' leads of floating tow rope with hand tied 3" eyes coming. I will overnight these the minute I get them in my hands! Super cool customer to work for! Thank you for trusting in me to keep your rescue boat floating in tip top shape.

This boat went into a local shop ..... if that's what you call it.... and told to look for a new boat, this motor wasn't worth saving. Here is the culprit for the oil leak. Along with the hose from the cooler to the bulk head. Replaced the fitting, hose and o ring and we have no more oil leak. This thing busts right up and runs amazing. Thank you for allowing us to handle this job for you! We will be getting it back here in the next couple months to install new trim limit and sender units. Super cool customer! Thank you again.

Yesterday I had a great conversation with a guy, got to learn alot about who he is and what he does. In this conversation. This company has countless hours behind the scene with programming Mercury ECUs. My question yo you guys. How many folks would be intrested in tuning their Mercury 4stroke? This subject isn't for the faint of hearts. I had a ton of questions answered yesterday during our phone meeting and feel pretty confident in what is about to happen. These tunes are not just a HP tune, these tunes have been proven to give your motor longevity. It will allow your motor to run more efficiently, burn cleaner, and at the end of the day, it does add horsepower. I'm reaching out to you guys see what type of demand is out there for guys questioning this situation. Please by all means share this post. Southwest Boat Works could possibly be re- directing into a new world.

Thank you guys for always showing the love and support. I know posts have been slow, but things have been crazy around the shop.

8 boats in the shop!!! 5 diagnosed and waiting on parts!! The dreaded part of being at the mercy of the post office. Tomorrow we shut the doors and head to Weatherford Oklahoma to support the Cache Lady Bulldogs!

Was able to get the Flowrite drain plug installed in the Cobra today. Didn't have to cut a whole in the glass. We centerd the actuator between the live well pumps on the back plate that covers all the pumps.

So I just filled and bled off a new Vevor hydraulic steering system. It is sensitive to the touch of the wheel, very responsive. I would be really hesitant to put on anything bigger that a 150hp, I see this system to be a big money saver to upgrading cable steering on small john boats. Aluminum rigs. I would not recommend it for the average bass boat run and gun type of fisherman, but non the less, I give the system a thumbs up.
