SOLD.
I will preface this by saying this car really belongs with our sister company, Great Lakes Auto Exchange, HOWEVER….this girl has been my personal vehicle for approximately one and a half years and she has served me well. She is far from perfect, has nearly 153k miles and needs a bit of attention but she’s never left me stranded, she’s very presentable and consistently gets compliments. She saw me through the absolute worst of times, she celebrated my finest days and she comfortably and surprisingly economically hauled me all over Michigan.
2006 Jaguar XJ8 L 153k miles. Excellent condition. Heated front/rear seats. Heated steering wheel. Auto headlamp with front/rear fog. CD/NAV with iPod connectivity in center console. Leather and wood are in excellent shape. All power features in reliable working order (windows/door locks/moonroof/heat/ac/key fob/electronic tilt/telescope column/power adjustable pedals. Upgraded factory stereo with subwoofer, auto vol control. Air suspension works properly. Level control in proper working order.
Factory spec: Aluminum body/chassis 4.2 Naturally Aspirated V8. ZF 6 speed automatic transmission. 22.9 gallon fuel tank. Front engine. Rear drive. Stability and traction control.
Mineral Gray Mica over Dove Gray leather, Storm Gray top roll, rugs and steering column with high gloss burled walnut wood veneers throughout.
She has consistently averaged 22-27 mpg highway on midgrade (91) with the cruise set at 85-90 mph. She rides better than my Bentley (seriously. This rides nearly as smooth as a Town Car or Fleetwood Brougham)
Though she is Town Car sized, her aluminum body/chassis keep her light and nimble at around 4000 lbs. She did surprisingly well in this very harsh winter season. I never managed to get stuck in any of the deep snow or icy hills on my adventures.
I am the third owner by title. She was leased and then purchased off the lease by the same family. The previous owner lived down the road from me and the car had a very gentle life with excellent maintenance. When the gentleman passed, his widow and son offered me the vehicle. I purchased it with approx 137k miles and aside from oil changes, tire rotations, a rear sway bar when I first purchased it and a single ignition coil, she hasn’t required any maintenance. Normally, this is the type of vehicle that I’d refurbish and sell at a significant profit BUT, my time is limited with our spring inventory and projects coming in and as for all good things, her time with me has come to an end.
KNOWN ISSUES: First and foremost, there are various rash marks on the front bumper and rear bumper. The paint could use a good rubout and waxing. The headliner has begun to sag in the very rear portion above the rear windscreen (though it’s held up by flat tacks and not visible in the rear view mirror) Unfortunately this past winter’s consistent extreme cold temperatures took their toll on the plastic transmission pan and it has began seeping (noticeable on the ground) and will require replacement sooner than later. Additionally the check engine light is illuminated for oxygen sensors (and has been since I purchased the car) lastly, the various chassis joints and suspension bushings have started minor squeaking over the last 1000 miles or so. A simple chassis l**e should correct this (suspension was fully gone through and assessed in preparation for the sale, passing mechanical inspection) Unfortunately if I begin to do these repairs, I’ll end up keeping the car and I have too many others to enjoy at this point. I had initially planned to sell the car this summer for $6500 prior to these little maintenance gremlins popping up but as decided, I’d like to see her off at a discount to someone who is willing to put a few hundred bucks into her and really enjoy her the way I did. That said, I’m asking a VERY reasonable $3500. If you are interested, I’m happy to show the car. If she doesn’t sell, she will become the latest project in the inventory stock and we will restore her to showroom later in the season. Thank you for looking. Matt
