Mountain Strong was thrilled to partner with Yancey Mountain Recovery - Yancey Long Term Recovery Group to purchase and donate a car to a neighbor in need.

After Mrs. Bradford's vehicle was totaled due to water damage in Helene, she was unable to obtain any insurance coverage. This was a common issue after Helene, as so many residents in WNC didn't have flood insurance. Without reliable transportation, Mrs. Bradford would frequently have to cancel important doctor appointments and treatments, and even simple errands like getting groceries would take all day.

With the help of our donors and the LTRG, we were able to purchase and donate a vehicle, making everyday errands and doctor appointments as easy as they should be.

HUGE thank you to Thomas at Buchanan & Young Auto Brokers, who helped us source the vehicle and then personally escorted Mrs. Bradford to the insurance and tag office to make sure she had everything she needed. That's the kind of neighborly service you're only going to find in a community like ours.
