🚛 WHAT’S THAT PART CALLED? — DPF FILTER

A Diesel Particulate Filter helps capture soot and other particulate matter from a diesel engine’s exhaust before it leaves the tailpipe.

Over time, that soot builds up, and the filter needs to go through a process called regeneration to burn it off.

⚠️ If the DPF becomes excessively clogged or regeneration isn't working properly, it can lead to warning lights, reduced performance, or other engine issues.

A little maintenance knowledge can go a long way! 🔧

🔧 MAINTENANCE MONDAY

See a puddle underneath your truck or bus? Don’t ignore it! 💧

Even a small leak can be an early warning sign of a bigger mechanical issue. Identifying and repairing leaks early can help prevent costly repairs and unexpected downtime.

When you spot a leak, get it checked out! 🛠️

🚨 WARNING LIGHT WEDNESDAY: OIL PRESSURE 🛢️

See an oil pressure warning light? Don’t brush it off.

Low oil pressure can indicate a serious problem that may cause engine damage if the vehicle continues operating.

If this light comes on, safely pull over and have the issue checked as soon as possible.

🔧 A warning light is your vehicle's way of saying, “Pay attention!”

💡 TIP TUESDAY: CHECK YOUR LIGHTS

Good visibility isn't just about seeing the road—it's about making sure other drivers can see you.

🔦 Regularly check headlights, brake lights, turn signals, hazard lights, and marker lights for proper operation.

Tip: A quick walk-around before hitting the road can help catch a burned-out bulb or electrical issue before you need it most.

🔧 MAINTENANCE MONDAY: DON’T WAIT ON YOUR BRAKES! 🛑

Brakes are one of the most important safety systems on any vehicle. Regular inspections can help identify worn brake pads, shoes, drums, rotors, air leaks, and other issues before they become bigger problems.

Keep an eye (and ear) out for these signs:

🛑 Longer stopping distances — the vehicle doesn't stop as quickly as it normally does.
🔊 Squealing, grinding, or unusual noises when braking.
🚛 Pulling to one side when the brakes are applied.
🦶 A soft, spongy, or unusually hard brake pedal.
⚠️ Brake warning lights appearing on the dashboard.
💨 For air-brake vehicles: unusual air pressure issues, audible air leaks, or other changes in braking performance.
🔥 Burning smells or excessive heat around the wheels after braking.
📳 Vibration or pulsation felt through the steering wheel or brake pedal.
📉 Visible wear or damage to brake components during an inspection.
🚨 Any noticeable change in braking performance—even if the vehicle is still technically stopping.

🚛 FLEET TIP FRIDAY

🔧 Stay ahead of the maintenance schedule!

Waiting until a vehicle breaks down can mean unexpected downtime, rushed repairs, and a disruption to your schedule.

Regular preventative maintenance helps you catch potential issues before they turn into bigger problems.

📅 A little planning today can save a lot of headaches tomorrow.

Keep your fleet moving—and keep maintenance on the calendar!

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001, and the nearly 3,000 lives lost that day.

We honor the victims, their families, the first responders who ran toward danger, and the countless heroes who came together to help their fellow Americans.

May we never forget the lives lost, the bravery shown, and the unity that followed.

🚨 WARNING LIGHT WEDNESDAY 🚨

🔋 What does the battery light mean?

It doesn't necessarily mean your battery is the only problem.

The battery warning light can indicate an issue with the vehicle's charging system, which may include the battery, alternator, wiring, or related components.

⚠️ If that light comes on, don't just assume it'll go away on its own.

Getting it checked out can help prevent an unexpected no-start—or an unexpected stop. 🛑

💡 TIP TUESDAY

Listen to your vehicle! 📣

A new squeak, rattle, grinding sound, vibration, or unusual noise can be your vehicle’s way of saying, “Hey… something’s not right.”

Don’t ignore changes in the way your bus or truck sounds or feels. Catching a problem early can help prevent a small repair from becoming a much bigger one.

If something seems different, it’s worth having it checked out! 🚨🚛🚌🚗
