How I Price My Jobs
I’ve had a few folks ask how the billing side of Bob’s Mobile Repair works, so I figured I’d lay it all out there. I’m a firm believer in "no-surprises" and keeping things fair for everyone. 🤝

The Labor & The Trip
My standard rate is $140/hour. If you’re right here in my area, that’s all you pay for my time. If you’re a bit further out, I just add a small mileage fee to cover the gas and time it takes to get my "garage on wheels" to your driveway. I use a program to find estimated job times.

The Diagnosis
Got a dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree? 🎄 My base diagnostic fee is $120 if I have to break out the professional scanners.

The "Bob" Rule: If I show up and it turns out to be something dead-simple that takes two minutes to spot? I usually just waive the fee. I’m here to fix cars, not nickel-and-dime my customers.

The Parts Situation
If I Get Them: If you want me to handle the hunt, I’ll track down the right parts and send you a quote. I just ask that the parts are paid for upfront before I order them.

If You Get Them: I’m happy to install parts you’ve already bought, but just a heads up: I can’t offer a warranty on cheap or mystery parts. If it’s a "budget" special from the internet, sorry but you’re on your own if it fails!

Bottom line: You get honest work at a fair price, and you don’t even have to put on shoes to get your car fixed. ☕️

I got a message from one of my buddies today that I have built engines for his track car and this picture came through with just "You remember that engine you told me not to turn the 2step up on?.... well I might have done a thing." hahaha. Looks like I will be building another engine for him.
This picture is the number #1 rod coming out of the block. What makes it funny is he was recording it to send it to me and captured it coming apart.

2004 Chevy Tahoe: Dealing with the "Infamous" Broken Exhaust Manifold Bolts (both sides!). If you know these engines, you know that ticking sound. We extracted the broken hardware and sealed it up tight so this V8 can breathe easy again. 🇺🇸

I’m Bob, and I started Bob’s Mobile Automotive Repair because I believe car care shouldn't ruin your schedule. With 25 years of experience under the hood, I’m dedicated to providing honest, transparent, and expert repairs without the "big shop" markup.

I started building my own cars and friend's race cars. With the increase of people reaching out for help, I decided that I would just open my own rather than working for someone else.

We’re officially open for business and taking appointments in Burien and surrounding areas! My mission is simple: keep you on the road and save you time and money.
