Attention customers. A New 15% Ethanol Blend will be added to your gas soon. While this blend has been around for awhile, it will become more mainstream.
Customers should expect a potential for more vehicle issues. I would advise to avoid this fuel as much as possible. In Particular, in small engines and older vehicles. Increased Ethanol content can cause even faster fuel system damage if stored for even just a few months now. With cars, expect to see a small reduction in fuel mileage and even possible engine oil consumption and a potential for Check engine lights, O2 sensor and even fuel system malfunctions. There are several articles on the internet that will explain the effects of using this fuel moving forward. We do advise using a fuel system treatment at least every oil change to try to offest any negative effects.
At this time, we recomend Shaeffers products which are available at our shop, but any off the shelf product that combats ethanol side effects is better than nothing.
