Work in progress on deleting the rear seat from the 1983 911 hot rod using hand made custom panels in melody with the elongated stock bulkhead, making room for the large transmission. The temporary clecos will be replaced with beautiful TIG welds and metal finishing as we move further.

Deadliest Catch… Out of storage. I’ve had this little tool cart since the Joe Gibbs Racing days. Why the name? It was brand new and I went with my dad to race a go cart race in PA… I walked in the shop on Monday and the closer I got to it I could see writing on it! I was about to go nuclear as I would from time to time back then…. A couple of co workers said “ before you flip out, look at the pics and the note Sig left.” OMG that is still my favorite TV show. Captain Phil, Johnathan Hilstrand and Captain Larry signed it. Sig didn’t want to write on the new box so he left a note that said “shut the f**k up and fish”. 😂 Anyway here are some faded pics and notes they left. And hell yes I work out of this thing. Always have until before I got sick. Now that I’m better I gotta S**U and build some Porsches! Some cool decals, victory decals and autographs too!!! Flash

Though we usually fabricate on air cooled Porsches and the occasional Ferrari, we do get to do some other cool stuff. Like hang a Pro-Late model body and hand build the interior , air box etc. I really appreciate Pat Jett for the opportunity to be creative and to finally fabricate some racecar stuff at Flashpoint Autofab and Frame LLC!! When our work is done, the car will then be painted by Gary and Ricky at Gary Brown's Custom Restorations. Working on custom fabricating front fender flares, horn grill, gas door delete, and signal light delete panel on this 1983 Porsche 911! Through the use of a planishing hammer and other metal shaping techniques Flashpoint is able to hand make factory-like panels from single sheets of metal, leaving no messy seams or gaps. We are thrilled to collaborate with Classic 9 Motorwerks and Gary Brown's Custom Restorations on this beauty. I can’t wait to see this car painted, and at its full potential!

As we work on rebuilding the 912, we have discovered extensive rust damage as well as incorrect past repairs. One thing we’ve faced is custom fabricating return flanges throughout the car that have been rotted away over time. In addition the damage is substantial in the front of the car, requiring all new reproduction inner fenders; which involves precisely transferring original brackets into their correct position on the new metal. This car is going to take vast amounts of work and energy, but in the end it will be better than the day it rolled out of the factory. #912

Today we finished the bottom half of the left side inner quarter panel that we started yesterday and hand fabricated a new inner bumper bracket through careful reproduction. Before the final install, weld, and metal finish we have to treat the inner frame structure against rust using proper metal prep and chemical rust inhibitor.
