Whether you’re spending the weekend cruising Lake Hartwell, fishing, tubing, or anchoring out with friends, a little preparation goes a long way toward a safer day on the water.

A few quick boating reminders from Freedom Boat Club Lake Hartwell:

✔️ Always wear and check your life jackets
✔️ Keep an eye on changing weather conditions
✔️ Stay aware of shallow areas, docks, and floating debris
✔️ Designate a sober captain
✔️ Double-check safety equipment before leaving the dock
✔️ File a float plan or let someone know where you’ll be boating
