2018 Chevy Equinox 1.5. This one was hard to diagnose. The customer stated that after he replaced the rear brake pads and rotors and the right rear actuator motor, which he thought was faulty, the electronic brake release would not work. The brake light was flashing, so I scanned the car and found code C0561:43. This is also a service bulletin issue. I found on Identifix that if the brake reservoir is at the max level and you push back the calipers, it damages the pressure sensor in the module because it was showing 16,000 nm on the right rear side. So, I replaced the module with an OEM GM part number, programmed it through GM Techline Connect, and performed the setup and configuration. Once I did, it failed the setup, so I had to remove the right-side actuator, put the old one back on, pushed the caliper all the way back manually, then hooked up the scan tool, and requested both actuators to close and then open. Then, I reprogrammed the setup and configuration again, and it all passed. I did a reset, and everything is good.

A 2018 Chevy Traverse customer states that when he replaced his rear brake pads, he followed all instructions for pad replacement using service mode and a scan tool. However, when I diagnosed the vehicle, I found a code. He then told me that after the replacement, he couldn't get any power to the caliper actuators. When I looked up the code on Identifix, C0561:43, I also noticed that the brake reservoir was filled to the very top. I found a service procedure that states if the fluid pressure and fluid level are above the max line of the reservoir, the pressure in the ABS pump will damage the module. This is also mentioned in a service bulletin. The part is coming in this weekend, and I will program the module to get him back on the road.

A customer with a 2018 Chevy Traverse 3.6 reported a shaking issue when coming to a stop and at speeds over 50-60 mph. He had already replaced all four rotors and pads. He also mentioned other issues, including an illuminated engine light.

Upon diagnosing the vehicle, I found that the inner bushings of the lower control arms were cracked, causing the brakes to shake when stopping or driving. I then scanned the truck and discovered that the lower B shutter behind the bumper was not functioning at all. After commanding it on, I replaced the shutter and its wiring plug. There is a service bulletin regarding corrosion of the power connector wiring, so I replaced it as a precautionary measure.

2012 Ford focus full brake job

A customer complained about oil leaking from their 2011 Chevy Impala 3.5. Upon diagnosis, it was discovered that a faulty power steering pump had been leaking for some time, affecting the serpentine belt, hoses, and wiring. The customer approved the repair, so the pump, crossover pipe gaskets, and coolant were replaced. Some wiring loom repair was also performed as a temporary measure until the underlying wiring issue could be fully addressed. Additionally, the customer requested valve cover gaskrts an transmission fluid and filter change.

A customer pulled a 1974 Volkswagen Bug into my shop and wanted me to get it running, plus check and retorque the head bolts. I did some testing and found that the external fuel pump was bad, and the driver's side intake nuts were loose on the studs. So, I wired the fuel pump with an inline fuel filter, primed it, put good gas in, and she runs.
