Late night thoughts with Nick!
Enjoying the evening with the family and I realized a topic I can touch on. Project cars! This time of year brings alot of weekend warriors out of the woodwork. That is awesome! Car guys thinking of their projects or projects they want. The number 1 tip I can give to any car person want to get into or thinking about starting a project....... NO RUST! If you can, Search for your dream car down south or anywhere vehicles are not prone to rust. Autobody shops are dying. Like most industries, it is becoming harder and harder to maintain a business due to many factors. Most shops have streamlined their business to the most profitable avenue..... insurance work. Shops simply cannot afford to do custom/restoration work anymore due to the cost of materials, parts, employees, and just plain overhead in general. Any time a shop owner or estimator hears "I have this car etc.... rust" It's almost a guaranteed "NOPE!" from the shop. While there are shops still out there willing to do that work, rust makes it almost impossible to make it worth putting money into a car in the first place. A work car? Sure! Put some money into that to get years out of it understanding it will fail again at some point. A dream car or project just isn't worth the time and money to start with rust. Do your homework. Search for that car that makes it worth it. That's part of the fun anyway! It took13 years to find mine. It was worth the wait!

Boy have things changed! 26 years in the business and have never had the chance to use one. We have had this for quite awhile and I finally got to play around with it! Every day still has a bit of fun involved!

Also, we are ending the year with a fresh coat of paint in the yellow building thanks to Dean Gilbert and crew! Thank you all so much!

Our new team member Isabella learning the ropes with Body. Kash is king in the booth and we hope to have Bella become a disassemble reassemble tech soon! Cannot express how happy we are to have two teenagers on the crew! They are showing promise to the future in the workforce. Very proud of them!

We are currently in need of two technicians. We would love to have an experienced tech with at least some of their own tools. We would also be interested in an entry level technician. These employees would be part of the disassemble, bodywork repair, and reassembly team. 40 hours a week minimum, paid vacation, health insurance, and very competitive pay based on experience. I would like to take a minute and thank each and every veteran. Our friends, family, and customers who have served and are serving. If it were not for you, we would not be able to enjoy the lives we have.

As luck would have it, our guide Ben Warner, was off today. We scheduled our yearly birdhunt in July for this very day. First snow of the season. Cold. Windy. Perfect! Even though John Delp thought we were nuts! Andy Rowan for saying exactly what John was gonna say and for stocking and cleaning the birds. From the quail right off the bat. To the duck at 80 yards over our heads that nobody thought we could hit....... the same duck I helped "land" next to 50 ducks that took off immediately that sent Shawn Anderson into a shooting frenzy. Zane Lucas becoming the quick draw killer. Kash Suthar shooting his first birds ever. Cody Smith despite having a shotgun that hated federal ammo, shot his fair share! Bo Murray smiling the entire time like usual! Jason Vandervort. He may have had the smallest caliber but that didn't stop him dropping three of the last birds on that final push. We have all become better shots! 130 pheasant and chukar, 2 quail, and I believe 3 or 4 ducks. Also, I don't think any of us will forget the cat getting rag dolled...🤣🤣🤣

This year has been beyond challenging. Losing and letting go of employees, gaining new ones, trying to build in the borough, parts issues, etc.... At almost 10 years in, I would not trade or change any of it. This crew has earned it. All the curveballs, being busy pretty much year round, every change, and even putting up with me... Best crew ever! To our honorable mentions who were not out with us today, Chad Brocious. Appreciate your mentorship with Kash and bringing your experience and bust your ass day in and day out. And my dad, Charles Greenawalt. Shop gopher! And my wife Jill Greenawalt for allowing me to hunt as much as i can this time of year! Thank you!

Being able to do these kinds of things helps break the mundane everyday schedule and I feel helps keep us the crew that we are and brings us closer together. It gives us all something to look forward to and to work towards together outside of the shop. Yes it puts us a little further behind. However I guarantee you wouldn't find a better shop with a group of guys that all get along. That is huge for the out come of your vehicle repair. Thank you veterans and yet again all of our customers! Without all of you, this would have never been possible. Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!!
