Four cars in the shop today. All getting ceramic coated.

Lexus, just over 1,000 miles. Paint corrected first, coating on top.
Cybertruck in matte black PPF, with ceramic over the film.
GMC, under 2,000 miles. Just finished.
Black Grand Highlander, brought in right after delivery.

Same reason every time. Brand new, and the owners want them to stay that way.

The best time to protect paint is before the first salt hits it.

This truck came in already looking good. That’s the point.

The owner wanted to keep it that way. And on a truck this size, washing takes forever.

An $80,000 truck that’s only a few weeks old, and in the sun the black paint reads gray.

Holograms and swirls all through it. That’s not paint you want to see in daylight.

He also drives where the bugs hammer the front end, and he wasn’t going to spend every weekend scrubbing at them.

One-step paint correction to pull the holograms and most of the swirls out and get the black back. Then a six-year ceramic coating to seal it in.

Bugs, road grime, the salt that’s coming this winter. None of it sticks. It washes off.

This Lotus Evora got a Ceramic Coating with us.

Before anything gets laid down, the paint gets decontaminated and clay barred to pull the contamination out of it. Then we machine polish it panel by panel, and that’s what pulls the swirls and scratches out and brings the gloss back.

The coating just seals in the work that’s already done.

He came to us because he looked at the car on a sunny day and saw swirls everywhere and flat, dull paint. Now it holds that finish for at least three years, and washing it is easy. Dirt comes right off instead of sticking, and the scrubbing is what put the swirls there in the first place.

The coating isn’t the result. The prep is.

Every car that gets dropped off here, I walk outside with it first. I want to see the paint the way you see it in your own driveway.

This one came in full of holograms. Not car wash swirls. Those come from a polisher that cut the paint and never got finished properly.

So I cleared it up. Then I put it right back in on purpose, so you can see how it happens.

Good news: it is not permanent. Black paint just needs someone patient with it.

50-year-old car, same owner for the last 20 years.

He came in thinking about a repaint, but wanted to see what a paint correction and coating could do first. Fair question, so before we touched anything we put a paint gauge on it and did a few test spots, then walked him through what we were seeing.

Fifty years of paint. Thin in places. It’s never going to look brand new, and he was fine with that. The car goes to shows and what he really wanted back was the gloss.

That’s the order it should go in with older paint. Measure it, talk honestly about what’s realistic, then decide what’s actually worth doing.

He drove 45 minutes to get here.

Googled ceramic coating, found us, read the reviews, made the trip. Said what kept him here was the communication and the fact that nobody pushed him. And the coffee.

He drove his last car 15 years, until it died. He’s planning on the same with this one.

That’s the real case for coating in Minnesota. Salt every winter, and paint that has to hold up for a decade or more.
