The Cason's have owned Akins & Bobb Motors in Savannah, GA for over 13 years and have decided to expand their business closer to home in the Brooklet area. Walt Cason has been in the automotive business for over 40 years. After receiving his degree in automotive technology from Savannah Tech he was immediately hired by Goodyear where he started at the ground floor of the business. By the time he r
etired from Goodyear after 20 years he was the Savannah area district service manager, overseeing 3 stores. From there he started his own business, Cason's Amoco. Walt was also a successful Snap-On tool dealer during this time. In 2003 he and Beth also acquired Akins & Bobb Motors and spent years building it into the bustling shop it is today, which includes a towing company and body shop. Walt is also the head of the alumni association (as well as an alumni himself) for the Bethesda School for Boys, where he enjoys spending his free time organizing various events and fundraisers to help the school. Cason's Auto Service is a veteran-owned business, with Walt serving in the US Army during the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He is also a member of the American Legion Post 184 in Thunderbolt, GA. When Beth isn't helping out at the new shop, she also has begun her own therapy horse program called the Brighter Day Therapy Program, where her miniature horse, Santana, visits local nursing homes and hospice care facilities and brightens the day of whoever needs it. Be sure to check out Santana's page (at www.facebook.com/santanathehorse ) to see what he's been up to! The Cason's are proud supporters of the GSU Eagles and members of the booster club.
