****This weekends races are hosted BY MAXXIS. They are who you need to speak to in regards to this weekends races including but not limited to registration, pit stalls, race rules, tech etc. See previous post we shared!****

Keep in mind that the forecast looks to be extremely hot on Saturday. Of course the weather changes hourly in this state but HEAT EXHAUSTION & DEHYDRATION is a real thing and something we will all need to be paying serious attention to this weekend!
This will include during active races (many cautions, reds etc will keep drivers on the track and in the heat longer.) Please know that we will do our best as track staff to keep everyone as safe as we can but this requires help from y'all too!!

It's RACE WEEKEND!! Anyone remember what Brett Wulff looks like? Because I may have forgotten as he's spent every day at work and then every evening and late night in to the early morning at the track.
As always, he and a couple friends are busting a$$ to give the best track we can!
A couple reminders ABOUT us....
*UPS is and always has been a COLD pit (karts/ebikes/bikes, 4wheelers etc) before & during all practice & race days! This is for EVERYONES safety!
*FOOD & BEV!! Our AWESOME CONCESSION stand run by Michelle and Kurt will be available for everyone including grandstands spectators!
Burgers, Hot dogs, foot long dogs/corn dogs, fresh fries, deep fried pickles, s'mores, homemade lemonade, other snacks/food and beverages also!!
We do not allow for outside food to be brought in or delivered etc. (FYI Fast food is more expensive than our stand and not even close to as yummy!) Go sell them out this weekend!!!

Much like all of the other small tracks, we are family run and depend on everyones support to keep us going as well!

I'll go ahead and share this for our weekend races!!
Please remember that University Plains Speedway is a COLD PIT until the END of the races.
It is not safe for us to have to dodge Ebikes, 4-wheelers, bikes etc when we are trying to go from one area to another inuding any potential emergencies.
We have a HUGE open greens area back behind our merch trailer that you are welcome to ride in or play in as long as you keep yourself, and all others around you, safe!

• Tire Scan – 9:00 - 10:30 AM
• Driver’s Meeting – 10:45 AM
• One Round of Practice by Class – 11:00 AM
• Qualifying Begins – 15 Minutes After Practice Ends

𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗗𝗥𝗜𝗩𝗘𝗥 & 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗜𝗡𝗙𝗢
Borderline Age Drivers
Drivers must choose ONE age division to compete in.

Competition Age
Competition age is determined by the driver’s age on January 1, 2026, OR December 31, 2026. The age chosen at Race #1 will remain the driver’s competition age for the entire series, including the Midwest Maxx Daddy. NKA age rules and guidelines will be followed. https://www.nkaonline.com/rules

Birth Certificates
If requested, ORIGINAL state-issued birth certificates must be presented. No copies or photos will be accepted. Any age or eligibility protest must be submitted to the Race Director before qualifying begins.

Weight / Ballast
If ballast is improperly secured at ANY time during practice, qualifying, or feature events, the kart will be disqualified for the entire event.

Super Heavy Drivers
Super Heavy drivers must weigh in during pre-tech before practice. The driver must weigh 200 lbs WITHOUT gear. This will be your official weight for the day.

Tech
NKA tech rules will be used. Top 3 finishers must remain in tech until released by officials.

Flat Kart Classes
HT3 or ST3 tires may be used — your choice.
Junior 1, Junior 2, Super Heavy, Restricted Box and Builder Prepared divisions MUST scan tires for Saturday classes. Only scanned tires may be used.
• One dog leg set per class entered (flat karts)
• One full set per class entered (wing karts)

ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
Foul language toward event staff will not be tolerated.
Fighting will result in a MINIMUM one-year suspension for both the driver and pit crew.

We reserve the right to refuse gate entry to any individual.
Most importantly, we hope everyone has a safe trip to Brookings!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AMERICA! It's Race Day Baby!!I've lost count on the # of hours Brett has spent at the track since last Saturday. He's been working his ass off to give you all the best track he can given Mother Nature's attitude this week.
*Registration until 1230pm (call Samantha or message us if you traveling and running a bit behind).
*Drivers meeting at 1:30 @ the tree (bring raceceivers!!)

Tomorrow is race day!! We have been working hard to get it ready and it looks great for racing tomorrow. We will continue to work on it through the evening and are prepared for fast laps tomorrow. Campers are already rolling in so come on out!

While we have decided to cancel tomorrow's race (July 3rd), I can't let today go without a huge shout out to the man that spends countless hours on the track, many times alone lately, to make it awesome for you all! We have no clue what the future holds but I will say Happy Happy Happy 50th Birthday Brett Wulff.

We are sorry to announce that with the storms that came through this week, as well as the rain tonight, we are going to be canceling the race for tomorrow, Friday the 3rd. We are going to continue to work on the track tomorrow and try to dry it out and still try for the Fireworks Shootout on the 4th. We will keep you updated on the progress tomorrow.

One more try...some info was missing on the last flier...sorry!
As of right now, fireworks are not going to happen but 2 days of racing is the plan!
3rd is a points race for UPS & a Mid-Central Tour Races for points.
4th is the Firework Shootout and also a points race!
We will run Ducar also for those in that class, I just missed it, my apologies.

Due to an unfortunate incident after a feature race Saturday, we have decided it is in our best interest to make a statement. See attached.
In conclusion, actions have consequences. Unfortunately it isn't always just the adults that end up punished, the kids end up being hurt worse. And as a parent, probably something to think about too.
