Just a reminder if you're in an accident:
Insurance companies in Oklahoma cannot tell you who to use for body shop repairs! You have the right to choose.
Oklahoma law states that you have the right to choose where to get your car repaired after an accident.
It is illegal for insurance companies to pressure, force, or require you to use a particular shop (A contracted shop that works for THEM, not you). This is known as "steering".
You can and should report companies that try to steer you.
Some insurance companies may recommend shops that offer THEM a discount, but you are not obligated to use them.
When choosing a body shop, you can consider things like:
Whether they have positive customer feedback.
Whether they offer a lifetime guarantee on their work.
You can also visit the body shop and speak with the owner/manager to ensure they understand they work for you, not the insurance company.
