Heartbreaking Update on Tony Bortner
It is with a heavy heart that we confirm the passing of Tony Bortner. His body has been located and positively identified by the coroner. We extend our deepest condolences to Tony’s family, friends, and everyone touched by his life and work in the community. We know this has been an incredibly difficult time for his loved ones, and we ask that you continue to keep them in your thoughts as they navigate this profound loss.

We need everyone to please keep sharing Tony Bortner’s flyer and his face until he is found. Tony’s wife has reached out to our organization, A Voice For The Voiceless, Inc. urgently requesting renewed awareness to bring her husband home. We’ve included all updated details she provided, including the exact clothing he was last seen wearing. Every share brings renewed hope, helping us reach more people who might have the information or resources needed to find him.
It has now been nearly two weeks since , a cherished and dedicated Fire Captain with the Laurel Fire Company in , , went missing on October 17. He’s a beloved and devoted member of this community, a man who has spent years selflessly serving and protecting others. Despite extensive search efforts, there has still been no sign of him. His red SUV was located on October 19 near the Lock 12 Historic Area in Lower Chanceford Township, but Tony remains missing.
Tony’s wife is asking for our community to come together in support. This is a husband, a friend, and a community leader who would go above and beyond for anyone else in need.
