Meet Your Sugar River Raceway Drivers! Today we feature Cullen Johnson.

Cullen just completed his second season in the Kid Kart class, racing a Margay Racing LLC Wildcat chassis powered by a Briggs & Stratton Racing 206 engine.

In 2025, Cullen was named Kid Kart Rookie of the Year and finished fourth in championship points. In 2026, he placed first in the Red, White, and Blue Series and second in the overall championship.

His favorite person to race against is his buddy, Noah Marsh, and he is looking forward to moving up to the Junior 1 class to race with Zander Jacobson again.

Cullen’s goals are to reclaim the Kid Kart class track record and win a track championship before moving up through the ranks.

Cullen would like to recognize his mom Emily Johnson and dad Marc Johnson, along with all the family and friends who came out each week to watch and support him.

Here is the updated schedule for Vintage Karting 2026

The point series race scheduled for tomorrow (9/20/26) will be canceled due to rain.

The double points/trophy race will now be held on October 4th’s point series day.

We will work to add a single points race day to the schedule after we review our availability.

Results from Saturday’s (9/5/26) money race:

Heat #1 winner - Justin Wishard
Heat #2 winner - Rylie Simler
Chris Clossey led the pack all feature long. Justin Wishard managed to reel Chris in and get to his back bumper. However, Justin fell short by a margin of a tenth of a second. Chris Clossey was your feature race winner! But, with Justin’s higher overall points for the night, it left him taking home a pocket pull of cash.

Payout results:
1st place - Justin Wishard $1,000
2nd place - Rylie Simler $100
3rd place - Chris Clossey $100

We are under the lights tonight (9/5/26) at Sugar River Raceway for Race Day #10

There’s $1,000 on the line to win the overall in Lo206 Lite and of course fan appreciation night!!!

4:00pm - Pit gates open and registration begins.
5pm - Practice
6pm - Qualifying
6:45pm - Drivers Meeting
7pm - Racing

That’s right!!! It’s official, you win the overall points in the Lo206 Lite class this Saturday night (9/5/26) and you leave with $1,000 in cold hard cash!!!!

This Saturday night 9/5/26 will be our last point series race under the lights for the 2026 season! (Still have two point series day races left).

However, our race director has decided he loves these night races so much, he’s decided to cap off the night races with some 💰💰💰💰 for the Lo206 Lite class and track owner is on board with throwing some incentives towards the race fans as well.

Race fans…. Track owner Mat has agreed that we will also make this a fan appreciation night! Not only will you see one heck of a good show Saturday night, you will also have a chance to win your very own track time in some high speed rental karts on this very track! From 7pm until intermission on Saturday, see our pit gate attendant by the start/finish line. There will be slips available, fill out your information on those slips and leave it in the drawing box. At intermission (right before the feature races) we will draw some lucky winners!!!!
