Battery tray apron replacement is one of those jobs that decides whether the front of a 1970 Torino GT is solid or just hiding rust — and on "The Lizard," the original apron was done. In this episode Manic Mechanic dry-fits the replacement apron to get the gaps and panel to fit right, and weld the new panel in so the front structure is sound again.

Last week Manic Mechanic cut out the battery apron on the Lizard — their 1970 Torino GT — and it went great. Test fit looked solid. This week they kept rolling on the core support work, and most of it went just as well. But they made a mistake separating the passenger side apron section from the new core support, and they're not burying it. They show you exactly what they did, why it cost them time and created a heap of extra work, and what they should have done instead — so you don't have to learn it the hard way on your car.
