We’ve had a few people reach out asking for updates on the Jeep Comanche restoration project, so we figured it was time to share some progress—along with a few before and after shots.
In true “AMC Jeep” fashion, one project has quickly turned into a few more along the way. While that caught the customer a bit off guard at first, we’ve been able to work through it together and find some lower-cost solutions to a few of the higher-end modifications originally planned. So far, he’s been really happy with the progress—and we’re excited to keep it moving forward.
Here’s where things stand right now:
🔧 Cab Floor – Done (finally!)
The cab floor is now complete, including a new driver-side floor pan, passenger footwell, bracing, and patch panels. Everything has been sealed using Eastwood coatings along with 3M Panel Bond and seam sealer, and finished with new sound deadening material.
🔧 Custom Exhaust
The exhaust has been fully fabricated to exit on the passenger side under the bed. This required rerouting everything to work around the new spare tire mount and suspension setup.
🔧 Frame Work
The rear section of the frame has been treated with Eastwood rust reformer, along with internal frame coating to help protect everything moving forward.
🔧 Bodywork in Progress
Bodywork is underway. Once the cab corners are finished, the bed will be going back on the truck. The goal is to have that wrapped up in the next few days—stay tuned!
