The internet’s version of Portland vs. the actual reality. 🌲🤍

If you spend too much time reading comment sections, you’d think the Columbia Gorge and the Sandy River were completely empty this summer.

But as a local business on the ground every single day in Troutdale, we saw the exact opposite.

We saw our community show up. We saw parents taking a break from the grind to float the river with their kids. We saw out-of-towners fall in love with Multnomah Falls. We saw people sharing trail snacks, giving up their seats on the shuttle, and laughing in the sun.

Sasquatch Shuttle was built to bring people together, and this summer proved that the Pacific Northwest spirit is doing just fine.

I don't know who needs to see this, but if you want to experience the best of Oregon without the crowds, this is the exact itinerary I use every single fall. 👣🫈

Save this list for your weekend group chat:

1. Get lost on Sauvie Island: Skip the city and hit The Pumpkin Patch for the massive Corn Maize and fresh caramel apples.
2. Drive the Hood River Fruit Loop: 35 scenic miles of U-pick apples, pear dumplings, and local hard cider tasting flights.
3. Catch the Japanese Maples: The Portland Japanese Garden in October is arguably the most stunning fall foliage spot on the West Coast.
4. The West Coast Giant Pumpkin Regatta: Head to Tualatin to watch costumed locals paddle 1,000-pound hollowed-out gourds across a lake. It’s peak Oregon weird.

As the summer is winding down, everyone is gearing up to go back to school, we wanted to take this post and thank everyone who has been a part of this new adventure float on the Sandy River.

We’ve had so much fun and learned so much and can’t wait to take on even more adventures heading into the next season.

The Trout Route Sandy River Float will continue until September 7th!

‼️WARNING: imagine getting all the way out to Multnomah Falls and getting stuck there not knowing what to do.

Depending on the time and day the lot full sign pops up and the entrance to the parking to the falls is blocked. Then you have to drive all the way back.

Another terrible feeling is taking an Uber out there only to have no cell service trying to figure out a way to get home.
