The number you need is not on your tire. It is on a sticker inside your driver door.
Scott checks all four on this one before it leaves the shop. The door jamb called for 35 psi, so 35 is what it gets. The number stamped into the sidewall is the tire's maximum, not what your vehicle is built to run.
Every vehicle gets checked and adjusted before it goes back to you, so it leaves at least as safe as it came in.
