Just another day at Busted Bus.
A lot of people see a tracking number and a box showing up at their door. What they don’t see is the process that happens before that.
Today was pop-top hinges, automatic flex plates, sliding door cables, shift rods, camshafts with timing gears, clutch cable hardware, fuel gauge vi*****rs, heater hose clamps, and a pile of other Bay Window and Vanagon parts moving through the shop.
Every order starts with a hunt. Parts get pulled from shelves, bins, engines, and sometimes vehicles that haven’t moved in years. From there they go through cleaning, inspection, solvent tank, sandblasting, repair, paint, and finally into the shipping bins waiting for the brown truck.
If the brown truck can get there, I can work there.
Thanks to everyone who continues to support a small specialty VW shop. We’re making progress one part at a time.
