Good morning, Louisiana! βοΈ
We want to start by expressing our genuine appreciation for our community and for everyone who continues to trust us with their transportationβwhether itβs a daily driver, work truck, commercial vehicle, or something in between.
Yβall keep us motivated, and whenever we have the opportunity to return that support, we try our best to do so.
We also want to address something that comes with operating any service-based business: sometimes, a customer may leave dissatisfied.
We donβt say this to be ugly, defensive, or to claim that we are perfect. We arenβt. We are human, and we operate a mechanic shopβnot a magic wand. Our goal is always to diagnose, repair, communicate, and ultimately satisfy our customers to the best of our ability.
Sometimes repairs become more expensive than anyone would like. Sometimes one failed component leads to the discovery of another. Sometimes a vehicleβespecially an older or heavily used oneβsimply does not cooperate the way anyone hoped it would.
We have no control over what manufacturers and suppliers charge for parts. If we did, trust us, things would look VERY different.
What we do control is how we treat our customers.
When labor costs begin climbing into uncomfortable territory, we communicate. When appropriate, we discount. We explain what we find, and whenever possible, we show our customers the damaged components and evidence behind our diagnosis. We make a conscious effort to avoid being the stereotypical βshop that just wants your money.β
However, we cannot provide free labor or repairs simply because an unexpected problem occurs.
Our labor prices are intended to be fair not only to our customers, but also to the mechanics who work extremely hardβoften staying well beyond normal shop hoursβto diagnose difficult problems and get our customers back on the road.
We also understand that we wonβt be everyoneβs cup of tea. No business will be, and we accept that.
What we will not quietly accept is false information being presented publicly as fact.
If we make a mistake, hold us accountable. Tell us. Give us the opportunity to correct it. We have absolutely no problem taking responsibility for something that is genuinely ours to take responsibility for.
But accountability works both ways.
If a vehicle leaves our shop operating properly and an unrelated event occurs afterward, we cannot reasonably accept responsibility for everything that happens to that vehicle from that point forward. Likewise, if you disagree with a bill or are unhappy with an outcome, you are absolutely entitled to say soβbut please represent the circumstances and amounts charged accurately.
A negative review does not offend us simply because it is negative. False information does.
We keep records. We keep invoices. We document our work. We communicate with our customers. And when necessary, we will respectfully correct misinformation with those records.
Weβre not asking anyone to believe that Deep South Diesel & Automotive is perfect.
Weβre simply asking for the same fairness, honesty, and accountability from our customers that they rightfully expect from us.
To everyone who continues to support us, recommend us, come back to us, and trust our mechanics with your vehicles: thank you. We appreciate yβall more than you know. π€π§
