We talk a lot about the cost of racing, but there’s more to the crate engine program than just the price of an engine.
Here are 3 reasons crate engines continue to make sense for racers:
1️⃣ Chevy puts money BACK into racing.
Chevrolet Performance supports motorsports through sponsorships, contingency programs, technical support, series partnerships and more. That support helps racing from the series level all the way down to the tracks and racers. Continued use of these engine programs gives manufacturers a reason to keep investing back into the sport.
2️⃣ You can get an engine and GO RACING.
Instead of starting from scratch with an engine build, crate engines give racers a ready option. That can mean less time and money spent on machine work, engine development and dyno time — and more time getting the car ready for the track.
3️⃣ It helps keep racing about RACING.
A crate doesn't win the race for you. You still have to nail the setup. You still have to drive the car. You still have to make the right calls. A sealed engine program simply helps keep racing from turning into a battle of who can spend the most chasing horsepower.
Crates aren't the answer to making racing cheap — racing has never been cheap. They're one way we can help keep the sport going, keep racers on the track, and keep the pits FULL. 🏁
