You know you’re a mechanic when…
You wake up already tired, hands stiff before the day even starts, back reminding you of every year you’ve put in. Your clothes smell like oil no matter how many times they’ve been washed, and the grease under your nails never fully disappears — because this job doesn’t clock out when you do.
You know you’re a mechanic when you give your body more to a shop than most people give to anything. You push through busted knuckles, long nights, missed lunches, and days that were supposed to be “quick.” You lay on cold concrete, fight rust that’s older than you, and carry the weight of knowing that if you don’t fix it right, someone’s safety is on the line.
And you know you’re a mechanic when, at the end of the day, you lock up, exhausted but proud. Because not everyone can do what you do. You keep families moving, people working, and lives from falling apart — often without thanks. Your hands are worn, your body pays the price, but your work speaks for you.
This isn’t just a job. It’s a trade. It’s a responsibility. And it’s something to be damn proud of.
