Three containers, 726 sq ft inside, and the best room in the house has no walls at all
Here's the layout trick and it's a good one. Two 20-footers come forward like arms, a 40-footer runs across the back, and the gap left in the middle becomes the deck. You never built that space. It's just the hole in the U, and it's easily the size of the living room.
That shape also solves the thing most container homes fight with. A single box is 8 feet wide, which makes long thin rooms. Push three of them into a U and every room gets daylight from two directions, and the deck opens the whole middle of the house to the outside.
Look where the bedrooms landed too. One in each arm, at opposite ends of the plan, each with its own bathroom and robe. That's about as far apart as two bedrooms can physically get in 726 square feet. Guests, teenagers, a home office that never hears the kitchen — this is the plan you pick when you don't want to hear the other person.
And the whole thing is 67 square metres of finished house on a footprint that fits a normal suburban block. No two-storey stairs, no hallway eating floor area, no wasted circulation.

Would you glaze that deck in, or leave it open to the sky?
