This week’s headquarters update can be summed up in one word…

YEAH! šŸŽ¶

The countdown is officially on.

⚔ Power: FPL is almost done. After seven months of waiting, we’re convinced the meter and our contractor are in a committed relationship. They see each other more than some married couples.

šŸ“ŗ Shop TVs: The TVs are finally up in the shop so our mechanics can stay informed on the important things… like who’s getting voted off, who’s throwing a wine glass, who’s docking the yacht wrong on Below Deck, and whatever fresh chaos is happening on The Real Housewives of Orange County. We believe in continuing education.

šŸ–¼ļø Conference Room: We started decorating the conference room with some of the coolest automotive pieces we’ve been collecting for months. It’s officially starting to look less like construction… and more like a place where we’ll argue about carburetors for an hour and call it a meeting.

🚚 The Move: We started moving everything from the old shop into the new one, including the LS engines that are destined for our C1 Corvette restomod builds. Watching years of projects finally roll into their new home was a pretty incredible moment.

šŸš— Projects: The current customer cars are now in the new shop… and for the first time ever, we can actually walk around them without performing Olympic-level gymnastics.

And yes…

We have SO much room for activities.

If I were a gambler, I’d put money on us being in the single-digit countdown to opening the doors.

If your vehicle is on our waiting list, keep your phone close. There’s a very good chance you’ll be hearing from us next week with an update.

Now crank up Ludacris and Lil Jon, watch this week’s 30-second update, and celebrate with us…

Because after years of planning, months of construction, and enough delays to qualify as their own Netflix documentary…

Motorhead Customs is almost home.

We’ve come a long way from our little 1,000-square-foot shop. If you’ve been following this journey, drop a šŸ”„ in the comments so we know you’ve been with us from the beginning.

Well… you all voted, and today it finally happened.

The winning sign is officially hanging at Motorhead Customs.

We’re not saying it makes us look more professional… but the UPS guy only drove past the building twice today instead of six times.

One more piece of the puzzle is finally in place, and seeing that logo hanging outside makes all those months of planning, construction, delays, and ā€œit’ll be here next weekā€ worth it.

Now we just need to remember to stop pointing at the building and saying, ā€œSomeday that’ll be our shop.ā€ šŸ˜†

19 feet wide. 9 feet tall. And worth every square inch.

Saltwater Print absolutely knocked it out of the park with our new lobby mural. We wanted something that paid tribute to the classic cars, people, and times that inspired us and ultimately got us here—and they delivered.

The mural is only one part of the lobby. We combined whitewashed brick, rusted corrugated steel, warm wood accents, industrial lighting, polished acid-stained concrete floors, and unique furniture that gives the room its own personality.

And because apparently we didn’t already have enough projects, we also created some of our own antique-inspired gas and oil signs, along with several one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork you won’t find anywhere else.

Our custom LED lobby and conference room signs are arriving this week, and we can’t wait to see the final pieces fall into place.

This isn’t just a waiting room. It’s the first chapter of the Motorhead experience.

What detail catches your eye first?

Weekly Motorhead Headquarters Update

Seven years, 1,000 square feet, and countless builds later—we’re packing up the tiny shop that made it all happen. It’s a bittersweet goodbye to the space that somehow held our chaos, creativity, and a whole lot of cars.

People always ask how we restored so many cars in such a small space. The answer: storage units, creative parking, and a ruthless, full-contact game of Musical Restorations—last car standing wins.

This week, FPL officially hooked up our power! Huge thanks to the crew who made sure we wouldn’t be restoring cars by flashlight.

We also unveiled our lobby mural featuring the boss herself, Francesca. None of this happens without her drive, determination, and signature ā€œheck with it—we’re doing itā€ energy.

If you haven’t met her yet, here’s a quick survival guide:
• Maintain eye contact—blinking is optional.
• Answer questions like it’s a lightning round.
• And never… ever… use her bathroom. Seriously. Don’t test it. šŸ˜‚

The next chapter is almost here, Palmetto. We can’t wait to welcome everyone to the new Motƶrhead Customs!

ā€œTHE FPL TRUCKS ARE HERE! THE FPL TRUCKS ARE HERE! WE ARE SOMEBODY!ā€ āš”šŸ˜‚

If you’ve seen The Jerk, you get it. If you haven’t… go watch it, then come back. 🤣
After 7 months of waiting… countless phone calls… emails… permit approvals… inspections… and enough back-and-forth to qualify us for the Pickleball World Championships… the FPL trucks have finally arrived!

At one point we were convinced our contractor was talking to the electric meter like it was going to answer him. We were starting to get concerned. šŸ˜‚

He can also finally stop carving ā€œFPLā€ into one of the new trees at Motorhead. Our landscaping was beginning to take it personally. 🌳🤣
This has been one of the biggest hurdles keeping us from opening, and seeing those trucks pull in feels just like Steve Martin finding his name in the phone book… except our phone book is a bucket truck.

Huge thanks to everyone who’s stuck with us through this crazy journey. The finish line is finally in sight.

Motorhead Customs… we’re finally getting powered up! āš”šŸ”„

This week has been absolutely exhausting…

So naturally, we bought an exhaust bender. šŸ˜‚

Meet the newest addition to Motorhead Customs—our BendPak Digital Exhaust Bender!

We’re officially done getting bent by sending exhaust work somewhere else. From now on, the only things getting bent around here are exhaust pipes.

Things are finally bending our way, the shop is taking shape, and every day we’re adding another reason to keep your project under one roof.

After the week we’ve had, we figured if we’re going to be exhausted… we might as well own the machine that makes it. And boy, are we gonna make it.

What should be the first custom exhaust we build? šŸ‘‡

Blacktop is officially down at Motorhead Customs.

Which means we are proud to announce we are no longer running a motocross track, dust bowl, or off-road testing facility disguised as a shop. šŸ˜‚

The parking lot is paved, the building is looking real, and we now have enough room for customer cars, deliveries, car meets, bad decisions, and at least three people standing around saying, ā€œYep… that looks good.ā€

This place has come a long way from dirt, mud, gravel, chaos, and questionable life choices.

Ready or not… we are getting soooo close.

Motorhead Customs is almost home. šŸ

07/03/2026

We know we’ve been a little quiet lately, but we promise we haven’t disappeared — we’ve just been very, very busy aggressively transforming caffeine into a fully operational Motorhead shop (and possibly into mild chaos).

We’re excited to say the end of July is our target date. šŸ™Œ (Yes, we said it out loud. Hold us accountable. Or bring snacks. Preferably snacks.)
Over the last two weeks, a lot has happened. We added a sandblast cabinet, tire installer and balancer, a BendPak digital exhaust bending machine, our new MaxLine full-shop air system, and a compressor setup that could probably power a small theme park… or at least make us feel like we could.

As for the exhaust machine… after one memorable trip to drop off a vehicle for exhaust work (we’re still emotionally recovering and may never trust again), we decided the most peaceful, rational, totally-not-spite-driven solution was to just buy our own machine. Very calm. Very mature. Zero regrets. Possibly some lingering eye and twitching.

We’re also starting to bring in our antique finds and artwork to give the shop some personality — but first Francesca had to make a ā€œquickā€ stop at Hobby Lobby, which somehow turned into what authorities are now calling The Great Frame Shortage of 2026. If you were looking for a frame in Manatee County this week, we apologize. It’s probably at Motorhead now.

We also have vendors starting to stock the shop with quality hardware and supplies— shoutout to Chris with Kimball Midwest for making sure we never again have to drive across town, question our life choices, and argue with a hardware store employee over the existence of a 5/16 nut and washer. We are now fully stocked and emotionally stable. Mostly. On good days.

Outside, the property got new magnolia trees, sod, mulch, and plants — because nothing says ā€œserious automotive operationā€ like aggressively landscaping between tool deliveries and pretending we know what we’re doing with plants.

On Monday, the parking lot and driveway get paved, which means we’re one step closer to not accidentally off-roading every time we pull in. After that, the fence is one of the last big pieces.

Oh, one more thing, now we just need FPL to hook up full power… because apparently electricity is ā€œimportantā€ when opening a car restoration shop. Who knew. Minor detail. No big deal. Totally fine. Our poor contractor is definitely not refreshing the work order status every five minutes.

We’re getting close, and we cannot wait to open these doors.

Follow along. Big things are coming.ļæ½Woman-owned. Locally built. Classic car obsessed.

The building may be finished, but we have a new problem…

Francesca finished decorating her office and now we’re pretty sure she’s claimed sovereign ownership of the bathroom.

We’re not saying it’s heavily guarded, but this morning I had to show two forms of ID, pass a background check, and explain why I was standing near the door.

At this point we’re just thankful she lets us work in the building.
