Hi Everyone,

Please share with friends and family in the Bozeman area and like this page for the latest allocation information. If you are serious about getting a new Toyota, I strongly recommend reading what is below and then calling me.

As you may be aware, we continue to have significant vehicle supply issues. People are getting vehicles but there are some hoops to jump through and some things that are likely different than the last time you bought a new vehicle.

(TLDR) at bottom

Please read below for some of the changes we have made: Hint - this is how you are most likely to get a new Toyota. I have done my best to explain the situation as I find that people are far more agreeable to what I request of them when they understand why.

I'm telling folks that new vehicles are taking 6 months to never to come in. Toyota doesn't necessarily accept custom orders, they are building what they can based off demand metrics and material/labor availability. The more flexible someone is in what they want, the more likely they are to get something sooner rather than later or never at all. Be prepared to wait an unknown period of time for your vehicle.

In order to take care of our employees and local community first, Toyota Of Bozeman has recently made the decision to limit new vehicle orders and reservations to primary market area customers. Basically, people who would be registering the vehicle at an address that is closer to our Toyota store than any other store. There are some exceptions to this rule. First, if a customer is outside of our primary market area but regularly does business with us. Second, if a vehicle is far enough along it's journey from a piece of paper to a giant hunk of plastic, rubber, and metal to be considered in "F status" (Freight status) then we open that vehicle up to be reserved by anyone that plans on registering it in the state of Montana. If a vehicle reaches "Ground Status" then anyone in Montana or adjacent states may purchase it.

We encourage trading in vehicles whenever possible and are in desperate need of good used inventory however, due to unknown wait times on new vehicles, trades cannot be evaluated until approximately a week or two prior to the expected arrival of a new vehicle. So one must be comfortable knowing that if a vehicle has to be traded in, we will always put a fair number on that vehicle. If someone is not comfortable with this and has to trade in a vehicle, I am not allowed to take their money and reserve a vehicle. Please contact me directly if you are in a position to sell us a vehicle now and wait an unknown period of time for the new one to come in - used vehicle prices continue to be just plain stupid.

This final change is the part I like the least but I understand why we have to do it. Due to the metrics that Toyota uses to give us future vehicles, it has become extremely important that we are able to report a vehicle sold as soon as we possibly can - it helps us get ore vehicles sooner. Typically, 3 to 5 days before a vehicle is ready and standing tall, we get issued the invoice - payment and paperwork must be completed by the end of the day that this occurs. If this does not occur then my managers will make that vehicle available for someone else to purchase. Let me state that in another way - If one does not pay for a vehicle and sign paperwork when we tell them they have to, they will likely lose their right to complete the purchase of that vehicle. Sorry for being so harsh, some people have forgotten this part of the agreement and ruined it for everyone. I don't want this to happen and I don't expect it to happen but it is important the one is comfortable knowing that they will be paying for and signing on a vehicle typically 3 to 5 days before it is ready to pick up. The vehicle will be brand new and exactly how it was described or we will make it right even if that means unwinding the deal.

That's a lot to digest if you made it this far, thank you for reading.

Please contact me for further inquires.

All the best,

Sam

(TLDR) A new vehicle is 6 months to never out and if someone is lucky enough to get their name on one that is incoming they have to pay for it before they see it and if they don't, we're going to sell it to someone else. Kidding but not kidding.
