I don’t want to stop taking new orders, however I’m a minimum of 8 weeks backed up right now for all FRP orders including hatches and other small parts. It’s been consistently over 100deg in my shop and I simply cannot make parts as fast as I can in the winter. Plus I’m old and I’m struggling to be in here 😂 with a suit and mask on.

If you need parts and you’re able to wait, I’ll take your deposit.

I’m only making this post so I can easily point to it when a customer wants to argue with me about waiting. Both my socials and website clearly state my lead times.

❓Did you know that the foredeck of classic Contenders have a slight “crest” in the center ? My Contender anchor lid replacement has the same crest/crown built into it so that it fits just like the original OEM lid. These are available to fit many older Contenders when your lid snaps off and sinks to the bottom of the ocean.

👉🏼Set your ego aside, how many guys have started a boat resto project and quickly realized they were in over their head ?

I started using a High Solids Aliphatic Acrylic Urethane for all of my paint work in the shop. I can’t explain how much of a huge difference it’s made when painting in a dirty workshop or outside.

This is a 70% volume solids paint(not reduced) which in comparison to Awlgrip and Alexseal is only about a 40% Volume solids. Alexseal 442 Finish Primer is 39% volume solids and their 302 SuperBuild is 60% Volume solids.

The 70% volume solids paint (not reduced) shoots like a primer and allows me to shoot directly over 120g sand marks and then I can guide coat and block sand out the sand marks and shop dust on the first application. The final application after it’s block sanded to perfection is a single coat reduced about 50% and then it’s polished with 1000-2500g and compounded to a flawless finish.

My shop is covered in fiberglass dust and this woofer box will be flawless when I’m done without cleaning my shop. 👍🏼
