Happy 4th everyone! Nothing like setting 496 cubic inches of freedom loose on the road for the first time! Have fun and stay safe today! There might be some crazy dude driving out on the road in an old looking Chevy truck sitting on nothing but a box of wood with no seat belts!

FINAL DAY! Did I achieve my goal to have this truck@road worthy today? Nope! But that is ok. Aim for the stars and you will still hit the moon. I’ve been thrashing hard to get this truck finished up enough to begin test driving and I am really close to doing that. WAY closer than I was two weeks ago when the engine wasn’t even in the truck. You win some you lose some. No worries we will get it done right. Thanks for watching these 14 days of thrashing. I’ll keep post updates on this truck.

DAY 13 of 14 to get this 1970 Chevy restomod on the road! Made big progress today getting all the rust repaired on the tailgate, then getting the entire front clip assembled with all the front end lighting installed. Still need to get the tailgate put back on, finish the interior, build brackets for the bumpers, and rear end wiring. So close! Thank you everyone for following along!

DAY 12 of 14 to get this truck assembled and on the road! I can’t believe we are only two days away from the deadline. It seems like yesterday I was starting this little series of reels. It’s been good for me to keep posting everyday like this. Lord knows I didn’t want to some days 😆. Overall this truck build has been great to do. I’m really excited to get it done and hopefully do more builds like this soon. Thank you everyone for the continued support on this!

DAY 11 of 14 to get this 1970 Chevy truck fully road worthy! Can we do it? Only time will tell! Today we made big progress on a lot of the small stuff. Yesterday we removed the bed so that I could get underneath easily and start tidying up all the frame rail plumbing and electrical. Also got the fluids in the truck all sorted out and wrapped the day with working on the interior. It’s not every day I get to do big things that show big progress, like putting an engine in the frame. In reality it’s a series of all the small things that add up to eventually make a completed truck. Thank you all for the support and stay tuned for more progress!

DAY 10 of 14 to get this truck finished and on the road! Took a quick step backward and removed the bed! 😳 but at least it moves and stops under its own power! This project consists of taking a 2007 Chevy Silverado frame and drivetrain and sticking it under a 1970 Chevy truck body and doing my best to make it all look like it was supposed to work together. It has come a long ways for sure. It will be road worthy very soon! Thank you everyone for continuing to follow along!

DAY 8 of 14 to get this truck all put together and road worthy!

I had a big win today, the engine fired up! Had to chase down a couple wiring issues, but after that it started and sounded amazing! The only problem is I share the back wall of the shop with neighbors and the startup startled them so bad they had to come see if I was ok! So I will have to get a video of the truck running tomorrow. Those mufflers really woke up the sound of the healthy big motor for sure. More to come tomorrow!

Day 7 of 14 to get this truck finished and on the road! I’m on a tight deadline but I am getting things crossed off the list in a big way! Today I wrapped up the exhaust for this truck. We are doing 2.5” dual out the manifolds, through a set of mufflers and then merging into a single 3” pipe that will exit out the passenger side. Just need to fill all the systems with fluids, complete just a little bit more wiring, throw in some go juice and we should be ready to fire this thing up! So stoked! Follow along if you want to keep seeing more progress!

Day 6 of 14 to get this truck finished! Almost half way there! Got the cooling lines are completed today. Gonna get the wiring in the cab finished up too so we can hopefully start this engine soon!
