Memorial Day is a day of remembrance for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. A hero is someone who has given his or her life to something bigger than oneself. This Memorial Day, feel free to do as you wish... because you are free. But take the time to remember those who gave us that freedom.

International Firefighters’ Day is observed on May 4th, a day to recognize the tremendous contributions, selflessness, and sacrifices firefighters make for the communities they serve.

Please take a moment of silence to honor those who have lost their lives in the line of duty and to show respect for those who continue to answer the call every day.

A flexplate is basically the automatic transmission version of a flywheel.

This connects the engine to the transmission. It bolts to the crankshaft (engine side) and the torque converter (trans side). When the engine turns, the flexplate turns, this rotation drives the torque converter. Your starter motor engages those teeth around the flexplate to crank the engine. ⚙️🔧

The driveshaft goes by many different names, such as propeller shaft, prop shaft, or driveline, and is a component of the drive train. It is a tube with connectors called yokes on the ends that connect to universal joints.

The driveshaft is a spinning tube that transmits power from the engine to the back of the vehicle at the differential. It does this by transmitting the spinning power from front to back.

It’s important to note that FWD vehicles don’t have drive shafts. The transmission and axle are combined into a single unit called a transaxle. However, in 4WD and RWD vehicles the transmission and axle are separate units. Hence the driveshaft which transfers the turning motion of the transmission to the axle.

Customer stated they had a tire repair done yesterday at a shop close to home and tire was low this morning.

This is why you never plug the sidewall of a tire:

A tire’s sidewall flexes constantly when you drive, way more than the tread. A plug or even a patch needs a stable, thick area to hold air, and the sidewall just isn’t built for that.

Here’s why shops won’t plug it:
• Too much flex → the plug can work loose
• Thinner rubber → higher risk of a blowout
• Structural damage → even a small puncture weakens the tire’s integrity
• Safety + liability → a sidewall failure can be sudden and dangerous, especially at highway speeds

Because of that, tire industry standards say:
• ✅ Tread area = repairable (with proper patch/plug combo)
• ❌ Sidewall or shoulder = replace the tire
