Wow! What A Trip!! This year's state SkillsUSA competitions are over, and we brought our largest group yet! Student skills projects took 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place! Best yet? Watauga Watauga County Schools now has its first Skills member who has been elected to a state office!! Great job, everyone! Also? A HUGE shoutout to www.smileonadg.org for donating the funds needed to feed this giant group of kiddos. The best is yet to come!

Our first FFA and SkillsUSA meeting was a success with a packed house! Students in both groups met the officer teams and learned about upcoming competitions, events, and field trips. Of course, we couldn't end the day without a cookout, co****le, and bobbing for apples! Thanks to everyone who joined us!

What a trip! This year saw our school's SkillsUSA Chapter grow and grow! Teams from Autotech, joined with Welding, Drafting, and our Art department, headed to Greensboro to compete in the state competitions.
They did great!! Art managed a FIRST place in the state, while the Automotive students brought home 2nd, 3rd, and 4th with their inventive, creative, and outstanding projects!

HUGE shout out to SmileonADG for helping make sure the students were fed. You guys ROCK!!

Next year? We are on it! Bigger, bolder, and with more departments joining in, we are going to need a bigger bus!

Got one last chance to meet with all my fellow NC TOYs at this year's BWF Teacher of the Year banquet. It was a great time catching up and seeing my replacement, our new NW Region Teacher of the year for 25/26, Ms. Tayler Bomar! Good luck, and enjoy the ride!

That's a wrap! Students from the automotive department traveled to Cape Fear Community College to learn about their marine mechanics programs before heading over to see the incredible Battleship North Carolina.
Special thanks to Gear Up for helping fund this great trip to the coast!
