Mechanic Tip: Check your tire pressure once a month, especially now that it's cooling off. 🛞

Tires lose about 1 PSI for every 10°F drop in temperature, so a chilly fall morning can leave you running low without realizing it.

🔸 Check when tires are cold, before you drive
🔸 Use the number on the sticker inside your driver's door, not the one on the tire
🔸 Don't forget the spare

Low tires wear faster, hurt your gas mileage, and don't grip as well on wet roads.

The fire melted the aluminum intake right down. You can still see the ports and the gasket, with the alternator hanging on at the bottom.

⚠️ Warning Light Wednesday: Your check engine light just came on. Now what?

First, don't panic, and don't ignore it either. Here's what to do:

🔸 Steady light: Check that your gas cap is tight and clicked. If the light stays on, you're usually fine to drive in and get it scanned.
🔸 Flashing light: Pull over when it's safe and stop driving. A flashing light often means a misfire, which can damage your catalytic converter fast.
🔸 Notice anything else? Rough idle, loss of power, a strange smell or a new noise is worth mentioning when you call.

When you bring it in, we don't just read a code and guess. We track down what's actually causing it, and we text you photos so you can see exactly what we found.

Myth Monday: “If the check engine light isn’t flashing, everything’s fine.” False.

A steady check engine light still means your car flagged a problem. Flashing usually signals an urgent issue (like a misfire) that can cause big damage—but a steady light can still point to emissions, sensors, or other faults that deserve a scan. Don’t ignore it: tighten the gas cap, get an OBD‑II read, or see a mechanic.
